sh*t guys this is starting to scare me... things were normal for about a week, then i had a very slight ball ache, and today my dick feels like when i was on propecia and erections are just as soft and hard to mantain

is it common to go back and forth a couple of times before staying normal?

does anyone have any similiar experiences?

i already did... a month ago.

2 weeks after quitting things were back to normally, 100% erectyle ability

things stayed normal for about 2 weeks,

now i have been suffering from slight ball ache and reduced erectyle ability for 2 days...

thats why i was wondering if these recursive patterns are normal when getting off of finasteride. can anyone give any input on that?

You may have crashed. This is very common in finasteride syndrome suffers :(

I wonder why they have censored propeciahelp, or at least I think so. It appears that .com is removed, so the links don't work.

Test: propeciahelp.com

Yeah, it's now censored.

You don't know it is that yet. Relax, don't think about it too much. Over thinking will make it 100 times worse.

Did you stop cold? How long were you on finasteride for?

Get on zinc. Use 50 - 100 mg zinc picolinate once a day - before bed. It works as an AI and will shift the testosterone/estrogen ratio in favor testosterone. Quit zinc treatment when you get solid morning erections. I assume you've lost them as well.

i took 1mg daily for 2 weeks, then 0.5 for 2 weeks then quit.

plz tell me i can still become normal... i honestly dont have the ressources to cope with this on top of all the sh*t i am going trough right now...

is that zinc therapy only symptomatic, or does it have a chance of fixing this?

should i just kill myself right now ?

Well if you think like that, then i should have topped myself a year ago. But i'm still here.

No. But seriously, look after yourself and give yourself time to recover. You're probably just going through fluctuations at the moment as your body trying to normalise. Some guys can take a few months. During that time i strongly suggest no alcohol and laying off the masturbation.

Zinc is good advice from Enden.

Waldo, keep in mind it's extremely unlikely that you are going to experience persistent problems. What else is going on in your life that's causing you distress? If you are experiencing stress from other factors in your life, it's much MUCH more likely these are the cause of your problems right now, not Finasteride.

Honestly man, don't even entertain the fact that Finasteride has caused any of these problems. I very strongly recommend taking some time off from the forums, take care of yourself, focus on something else for a couple weeks or months. If you can, maybe get out of town for a while, spend time with friends or just find something to take your mind off this.

Your body is probably still going through an adjustment period from stopping finasteride. Give it some more time and you will be back to normal in no time.

It may fix the problem. Take some time off, but use the zinc!

waldo, try to stay calm and not thinking about theproblem

i know personally it's extremely difficult, but it's the right thing to do

along with zinc may take also argynine, it helps

however ther's a possibility that ur symptoms disappears, the PFS is not so frequent

i wish i could believe that. but this is EXACTLY how my dick behaved and felt while on finasteride. it is nowhere near what it was before taking finasteride. i never had these issues, no matter how stressed and depressed i was. never. there is absolutely zero chance that its not finasteride-related.

however i really really hope what you say is true, and persistant problems really are too rare to be affecting me. but it has been almost a month now...

if anything since have only gotten worse so far. i am scared of ejaculating, havent done so in 2 days and im taking my zinc every night. i will add 30 minutes of cardio every evening.

should i stop lifting weights? im so freaking scared guys... i cant stay away from this forum... its the only place i have to discuss these issues. i have posted a thread on propeciahelp and will be doing some research.

how long have enden and mensrea been fighting pfs ? and how did it strike you guys ? similir as in my case?

No, exercising is good! It'll accelerate the recovery process.

I developed secondary hypogonadism after using Propecia for 4 months. Needless to say, I didn't recover as I was supposed to, and I began searching for professional help. I wasted one year on this, and I eventually turned to self-medicating. That was 1 1/2 years ago. I studied the side effects from finasteride for one year, and I learned how to reverse and manage all the side effects - except the sexual function properly. I couldn't stabilize it, and the explanation I concluded with, is that DHT is the hormone which maintains the testosterone/estrogen ratio, because it's the estrogen antagonist. In addition, DHT itself is essential for the sexual function. This becomes a problem when you're constantly battling DHT deficiency. I quit Propecia for the second time, 5 months ago, and I'm still working on my recovery.

Ok Waldo, i'll be straight with you because you sound extremely like myself.

Going by what you've said, you are exactly like me. Pre-finasteride you could have told me i had an hour to live, i still would have been able to get rock hard with a girl in front of me. Even if i TRIED to supress my sexual urges, they were too strong. Nothing mind related could ever change that. I couldn't even imagine having sexual problems, that's how sexually charged i was.

I've gone through breakups, had relatives die and all sorts of stuff. Never has my sexual function as much as fluctuated. Not until finasteride.

I've been struggling for a year by the way. I stopped it on 17th March 2010 after noticing for sure that my erections weren't the same. I figured this would fix itself pretty quickly when i stopped, but no.

Things got worse for me man. Watery semen, prostrate pains and all this sh*t developed after i stopped. It was a downward spiral for the next 9 months. Now things have levelled off. We'll see what the future holds.

You may be in the early stages, maybe not. You NEED to get bloods taken. THat would give you a vital clue what has happened if you continue to move South.

Don't panic, though. You're armed with information myself or Enden didn't have.

Chris on here was a similar case to you. He even had the shooting pains in penis and girth loss that i have had. He said he recovered after many a few weeks of intensive exercise. So there you go, you can follow suit man.

Keep us updated.

Don't stress out, stay calm and do the right things.
