Just an observation. ESPN has alotta anchors, rich eisen, rusillo, Scott van pelt, and a lot of the commentators.

But its still full heads or transplants for NFL

Joe buck has been open about his hair transplant

Why the different standard??

Basketball has van Bundy

10 years it they would be in a system

once again, its the inherent characterization of shame in attempting to hide baldness that attracts attention.

People have a dog's nose for weakness, and Lebron has been playing the shame game for years with his creeping headband antics and what not. Jordan on the other hand did the only smart thing to do when it becomes apparent you are balding: he shaved it off. Done and dusted.

I've been thinking about this before, I think we had a topic not long ago about how even the black man is no longer cool bald. The examples given were lots of black rappers, singers, entertainers like The Weeknd, Future, with flawless super NW1s is now the norm, and there's a lot of truth to this, you don't see a lot of balding black guys now or sly bald.

LeBron was cited as a possible turning point from myself and maybe others. And I wonder if he had a huge impact on this over the last decade, or our increasingly superficial society means it was only a matter of time before the black community also caught up.

Maybe LeBron accelerated it? Its quite a cultural change really. I don't think anyone ever really thought about 2Pacs sly baldness, and I doubt he'd be famous if he came out in 2015.

Maybe that's why his 2013 hologram tour never picked up, nobody wants to see a sly bald dead guy.

Geez.

Jordan must have had the EASIEST balding experience in history.

Recession, shave, look like an ultimate alpha, forget it.

I really think one has to consider confirmation bias when looking at something so broad and variable from this perspective

for example, we could just as easily say male baldness has never been more well received - the 3 biggest male celebrities on the planet in as far as bankability (and thus broad global appeal rather than niche/specific cultures like afro-american) are all bald. Of course this isn't completely accurate, but it is sufficient to show that its not as clear cut.

in so far as tupac's waning popularity, honestly I just dont think anyone wants to pay to see the "tupac is still with us!!" hologram gimmick for about the 20th time they've tried it since he died ;). Entertainment as a whole industry is taking a beating at the moment, hollywood has had one its worst years in a long time in terms of box office returns especially for their domestic market in the US.

Who?

I don't think it is down to bias, I literally couldn't think of a single black artist with hair issues when it used to be common.

Lol common. Get it.

2Pac thing was a joke
