estrogen links to DHT levels.

Hey, i was just wondering if anyone knows much about the links between estrogen levels and DHT levels? I've read some studies to show that high estrogen levels will cause DHT levels to increase. Does this mean that having lower estrogen levels may lower DHT levels? This would be a good thing.

Simply put...Higher Estrogen levels will cause lower Testosterone...thus you may get lower levels of DHT (as T converts to DHT).

Reason being, pituatary gland can't differentiate between E and T...so if you have high levels of E, than pit gland won't secrete hormones to produce T as it thinks there's enough (once again, can't tell difference between E and T). So over time, E continues to be high and you start to put on weight and man boobs.

Also, having excess T can create high E levels. So much T that it simply converts into E. That's why bodybuilders who juice get man boobs if they don't take something to control the conversion of T to E (arimidex, tamoxifen, etc).

I'm sure someone has a better explanation of this (as do I)...but i figured a simple answer would suffice.

I always understood that High E would cause lower DHT. This wouldn't be a good thing though, as high E has a whole bunch of unwanted issues that are far greater than hairloss.

yeah, only i was reading that high levels of estrogen cause your body to increase it's levels of DHT.
