Ever hear of Giovanni Battista Velluti, the last great castrato? Well he had his balls chopped off before puberty set in to maintain that childlike soprano voice, his hair also never fell out. Anyways, this guy was famous for his vast sexual escapades and he only had the minimal t produced by the adrenals in his system. I just think its intersting that t produced by the testes is not required for erection.
Any thoughts?

Id be interested to hear an answer on this from anyone who is knowledgeable. It would be interesting to me that someone, never having gone through puberty, and having been castrated..could still get it up..let alone have a notorious sex life

In regards to S.A.F's posting, yes I remember clearly getting wood before my testes began pumping out T. In the transgender community, those with regiments that eliminate T (usually through oral progesterones, shutting down LH from the pituitary) are still able to get wood. The complaint is spontaneous erections, EG morning wood dimish. Voluntary wood is still achievable through visual, mechanical stimulation, ect... I think that ED then develops over time as the corpus cavernosium begins to atrophy and fill with adipose tissue because of a lack of nocturnal erections. I heard nocturnal erections are an important part in maintaining healthy physiology of the erectile tissues. Anyways, side note. For those truly concerned over both hairloss and ED, I would say that a small dosage of v**** nightly before bed to provide good blood flow to the wang should compliment any regiment that causes ED.
I also think that maybe Velluti learned to adapt to sex w/o T, he psychologically controlled his libido more than T did... Just my two cents.
