I think I have what you refer to as scarring and red spots from finasteride as well. They never went away and literally burned away the hair follicles on spot. My hairline and crown are sh*t because of that.

How many hairs do you shed pre and on finasteride?

Mine:
pre finasteride: 50
on finasteride: (for seven years when it was doing its job)30-40
on finasteride: (when it suddenly started doing nothing but give me insane inflammation and sebum):60-80

After the inflammation came I literally lost more hair than I did the past ten years within months

I've lost 80% of my density on this sh*t. Ain't success whatsoever. I chose poor images to post. I am very good at using concealers and styling products now. Shouldn't have posted those pics, isn't what my hair actually looks like. The images I have posted now are a much better depiction of my hair loss on finasteride.

Right before getting on finasteride I was shedding pretty bad. Thats why I jumped on immediately as I noticed this. Shedding remained around the same for 3 months, until the inflammation and irritation kicked in. At this point some days I was losing like 300 hairs a day. I was shedding an absolute insane amount. Wanted to quit treatments but my derm said to stay on them. Took nearly a year for sh*t to stabilize and by then it was too late, my hair density was down like 80%; 90% in some areas.

Easy to say...except every single person I ask including dermatologists say there is no way finasteride can make things worse so you're better off staying on the drug if you don't have side effects.

I am afraid if I go off I could get a bald spot on my crown. With gels and concealers can still hide the loss alright.
