You talk about medical knowledge but your post is a clear indication that you're clueless about too many things.

This comment of yours is ridiculous. You just made such a big assumption from someone who clearly has a different writing style to all the people in this thread.

Also, people have had sides on Finasteride using it for even less time than that, it all depends on how sensitive people are to DHT blocking.

The guy clearly took the time to express his testimony and divulged specifics which is not easy to do on a public forum and you just don't want to believe it simply because you don't think it's possible or because it doesn't fit your narrative of what Finasteride can and can't do.

I don't agree with you disregarding someone's personal experience. Even I noticed sides from Finasteride around that exact time frame.

You are simply uninformed about finasteride's potential devastating effects which I guarantee you I am experiencing daily. It is actually the other way around, it would be absurd not to attribute the immediate changes and reactions to a drug that is known to cause them. There are people who claimed damaged from ONE pill, one of them posted his testimonial on PFS youtube. I initially also didn't think it was possible until I experienced it myself. Anyways, I don't care enough about convincing you but hopefully others will read this and understand the risk.

I was just agreeing with you that when it comes hair loss, people often make decisions based on vanity 1st and health 2nd, which is why I'm saying the side effects of drugs like finasteride were something Id be willing to risk where as other ways of improving my looks, like steroids I wouldn't touch.

I'm not from the US so what's illegal or legal where you are has no baring on where I am or the personal analogy's I choose to make.

Anyway it was not meant to be an arguing point I was just sharing a personal view.

I understand your point and yes there are risks with every drug and some people will take them regardless and that's fine. People take recreational drug, I understand that and it is a choice. However, there is a difference between that and people going to their doctor to make informed decisions to treat a condition. The problem I have with this drug is that the risk profile can be so unforgiving on an unsuspecting population who is taking it for vanity as you say. Very few drugs can damage you like this long-term. For example, a cholesterol lowering drug prescribed to someone with real metabolic syndrome (not simple cosmetic but an actual health issue) has a much better risk-benefit profile and less potential devastating long term effect than a pill for hair-loss. That to me is unacceptable.

I find it a very good read but to be honest I am mostly skipping all the pro-finasteride crowd as you guys are very attached to the medication (from my perspective no offence and I understand if it works for you with no sides) and just reading the studies posted to understand the damage done by finasteride to my body. Not looking for solution, I have tried many things and still trying but I have reached some acceptance of my situation while hoping time will heal.

I wouldn't have a problem if it had its FDA approval for hair loss removed, there is no actual reason for medically fit people to be taking it, unless you use the 'mental well being argument'. People who still wish to use it can still get it from hair loss doctors or other sources the same like they do for dutasteride.

I agree with that approach it is reasonable. I am obviously not asking for every pill of finasteride to be removed from the earth just to make it less accessible due to the risk.

Im not pro-finasteride, im just sharing my experiences, people should read what ever they want and come to their own conclusion. I've never encouraged anyone to take it.

I'm in a different position than most, as Ive always self prescribed my finasteride so if anything goes wrong it was my stupid fault end of the day.

Honestly, If i were to post that it would be quite shocking. Literally from pornstar to castrated. I don't want to think about it much it really depresses me and I hope I will get it back to normal soon. Not only is my penis retracting but it has a constant burning feeling. Not fun at all.

I actually just lost all respect for you with this comment. Its clear that you will look for any reason and try to make up excuses simply because it doesn't fit your narrative. You do realize we literally have about 30 to 40 different people probably watching this very thread and theres usually always atleast 5 people who have watched the thread to be online at the same time.

Yeah this thread is actually a really good read fulled with studies, articles, etc. The only people who would obviously despise of this thread are Pro-Finasteride people that are also extremely biased because there's loads of anti-Finasteride studies and articles and anti-FDA articles that do not fit their narrative. Those people only like threads where there's no anti-Finasteride information obviously.

Dude I don't get what the point of this thread is, does anyone actually think they're gonna be able to change anyone else's mind about it, I've been on finasteride for 3 years and I only started to lose ground again (from the regrowth not baseline) about 6 months ago which is pretty good, I literally have never used these forums for researching finasteride I just got prescribed it from a derm I was referred to and that was that lmao. I just joined here to research oral min which actually doesn't have much research behind it unlike finasteride.

Anyway this forum is a breeding ground for BDD, and this thread is stupid because 50 people on a forum who are against finasteride aren't going to be able to produce any significant change in regards to the use of finasteride, nor will they even be able to change the minds of people on these forums whom actually use finasteride
