Exercise and Hair Loss

Anyone can relate the frequency of exercising with that of hair loss?

Personally, I find exercising should be good for the scalp as it circulates the blood in the body and towards the scalp.

However, the scalp becomes oily and dirty after exercise and this may prompt more hair loss too.

Overall, I believe moderation is the key to exercising and one should clean the scalp promptly after every exercise session.

What are your views?

some people have claimed that cardio helps grow/maintain hair and lifting weights increases hairloss....

i dont think the scalp being dirty has an effect on hair loss as i never ever washed my hair as a kid and had tonnes of hair...

"Regular aerobic exercise can help keep androgen levels (particularly free testosterone levels) naturally lower while maintaining overall health, lowering stress and increasing SHBG. [1] [2]

Weight training without aerobic exercise may increase testosterone. [3]; [4] [5] [6] One study suggests that both heavy exercise and increased fat intake, in combination, are required for increased free testosterone in strength trainers. Increased total or free testosterone would help them build and repair muscle, but may cause susceptible individuals to lose hair. [7]

However, there is at least one study that indicates a decline in free testosterone combined with an increase in strength due to an (unspecified) strength training regime.[13]"

Enough with your links SAF .. i do know that intense excercise does put stress on your body, and its a good stress but it tends to make you body more acidic which can have many negative effects, such as inflamation, constipation, hairloss ... diet is a big part of any excercise progrom but especially an intense program.

I agree with SAF, excercise is not going to stop hairloss, but it does make you body work better and reduces negatives like bad stress, high insulin levels that are bad for the body and might reflect with your hair.

From the research ive done about acidity is that to counter it is to eat food that are alkaline. You dont need to eat all alkalining food, green veggies, most fruits, but the majority of your food should be. You can do a PH test at home that will determine what your PH levels are. Symptoms of acicidy in the body is inflammation(joint pain), constipation, fatigue, and premature aging of the skin and hair.
