definately worth a try, low doses of finasteride dont give me sides but if i go anywhere over .5mg every day then i feel them creep up on me.

This is why i feel topical finasteride would work well for me (if it actually works) because i could deal with a little of it going systemic.

It doesn't have topical finasteride in it, but how come I never heard anyone talk about BioMedic Minoxidil solution and co-enzyme. Ive been dealing with hair loss for 6 years and everytime I've tried something generic, I start to shed and thin. Immediately when I get back in these products, I see immediate regrowth. Not immediate in that I'm cured, but within days new vellus hair is already growing at a rapid pace.

Not a plug, but its the best minoxidil combo on the market IMO.

Then why don't you dose something like 0.2mg man?

in my experience it just doesnt work. I actually started taking a .5mg and breaking off about less than a quarter so im averaging about .33/EOD for now, i wanna slowly increase the dose after i took a nice 3 week break. In the past week ive only taken about 1mg total, but i feel it rids me of my acne so it has to be doing something. I really want finasteride to work for me, my gf tells me "its just hair" but im sure if i shaved bald, shed say otherwise.

Anyways, im going to the Doctor to renew my prescription for propecia tom and probably gonna let her know ill need her to fill out my Hason and Wong topical prescription form. Id probably continue taking .25mg orally while using the topical finasteride.

In a perfect world, someone sells a cheap over the counter minoxidil+dutasteride shampoo plus a minoxidil+dutasteride styling product. That way you could go about your regular life without worrying about treating your hair loss. How cool would that be?

I wonder if Murray Ave Apothecary can create a minoxidil / dutasteride cream?? I am almost certain they can...

Plus, there cream basically acts like a styling gel.. once you rub it through our scalp it gives your hair texture and hold... I will contact them about this.

Great! Please let us know how it goes once you manage to get it.

Would be interesting to know the composition and the delivery mechanisms they are using for it, Polaris uses for the NR-11 a lipid base drug delivery system.

I think the delivery system is a crucial part, as you don't want it to penetrate completely into the bloodstream (going systemic) nor just being in the outer layers of the skin (doing nothing), just something that allows the finasteride to reach the follicles and prevent some of the DHT conversion, that would be the 'ideal' case here. For example, that's more or less the role of the hydroxypropyl-chitosan (used as film-forming agent) in the P-3074 by the Swiss company Polichem.

I'll post updates once I start with the NR-11 next week, and as I am following the evolution of my hair transplant will also follow any (hopefully) improvement from the product in the upcoming months.

I'll also post updates with my results from the nr-10 which I'll also be starting next week. I chose to go with nr-10 because the nr-11 contains minoxidil sulfate. Which I want to research more before switching over from regular minoxidil.

Good luck with it! And let's hope we get some nice results or at least a well documented experience of its use.

I am also considering using some RU with it, but I will do my research first about it and will ask people for their experiences, opinions or warnings.

So I went to the Doctor today and since hasson and wong topical is not available yet she was nice enough to write me a script for a pharmacys own finasteride and minoxidil solution. Will be getting info from the pharmacy on Monday for price but I guess I'll be on topical gin sooner than I thought, will keep you guys updated.

Can i ask if you have a theory why .5 does not give you sides? As some studies suggest Serum DHT levels are nearly flat after 0.2mg. Example: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/10495374.
For me it seems if you want to microdose, you should do 0.05mg

Thanks

I was thinking the same thing..

But get this: I am dosing 1mg Sun - Thurs. Fri/Sat I take 0.5mg.

And, Saturday and Sunday I get morning wood. Not on the other days of the week.. :freak:

Topical finasteride is better than oral Finasteride, but not by much. I've been using it for over a year, and I am getting
temple regrowth. That seems to be more rare with oral Finasteride, except for men/women in their twenties. And I
am in my forties. It is growing my hair back all over my head.

That, and the thirty percent Minoxidil solution. If someone is considering topical finasteride with a concentrated Minoxidil solution,
I strongly recommend using hydrocortisone along with that. Because it can sometimes be too much for the scalp
to tolerate. And don't use RA with it, it's not necessary for high concentrated doses (Minoxidil).

The Murray Ave formula is good, but it might not work when it's frozen. That's especially true for people who live in Canada.

However in the summer that probably won't be an issue.

Did you experience any other differences with the topical version in contrast with the oral pill? For example side effects (if you happen to had some).

Thanks for the advice!

Do you set the alarm on the weekends? Maybe on weekdays you just get woken up by the alarm between erections (they happen several times during your sleep). I would be very curious to know what would happen if you would take 0.5 for a whole week.

Not really, that would change the situation completely. Since you apparently have a measurement device now (penis :salut:), it would be a great test to do 0.5mg for a week. Would be very interested to know the result. Or is it that you don't want to know, i could understand that...

I don't really care about having morning woods as long as the thing works when it should (and it does)..

But what I meant was, if I switch to the topical and I get morning woods back, then I know it is going systemic at a lower dose.

But in any case, I plan on doing a DHT blood test now (on 1mg oral) and after (on topical) - that will definitely tell the difference.

I see in your signature you're taking finasteride 0.05mg. How do you manage to get such dosage? Do you dissolve it ?

Yes, by dissolving it. Making 20 day batches with a 1mg tablet in 20ml. It is my first finasteride experience and i have only been doing it shorty. I can't comment on results or sides yet.
