Finasteride isn't strong enough to prevent follicles from miniaturising. It's an entirely different situation if your body is now emulating the hormones of a woman (higher amounts of E and castration levels of T), where androgens can't have an effect on you.

Yeah that won’t work, also there is nothing natural about supressing the action of androgens and exogenously supplementing Oestrogen.
I have a question: would you say bicalutamide is similar in effectiveness to flutamide? I can find several studies based around flutamide being used for female pattern hair loss but there isn't much information on bicalutamide being effective for female pattern hair loss...

I like discussing about minoxidil, however I just hate the word so much! It just reminds me of all of those doctors who act as if minoxidil is the only treatment for hair loss...

Yeah and no planning to turn back on it.I want my nw0 back so if i can't get it back with drugs i might give it one more chance.Time will tell.
When I saw a 'hair specialist' she told me the only treatments which work are finasteride and minoxidil. It made me so frustrated, because she wasn't listening to me about how difficult it is having to live with testosterone in my body. I was so overwhelmed with emotions, that I just couldn't help myself from crying! But, you can't discuss options with doctors since they 'know it all'... I waited five months for that appointment, and they weren't even allowed to prescribe finasteride. And, she got my norwood diagnosis completely incorrect and put me as an NWV. My ethnicity doesn't bald in that pattern, we bald in a diffuse pattern...
However, my dermatologist is willing to listen to me. I am seeing an endocrinologist in July and I'm going to tell him/her that I am non-binary, and that knowing I have testosterone in my body is making me miserable. I have read quite a few stories on reddit about them expressing that they are non-binary/androgynous and they can prescribe bicalutamide/flutamide/cyproterone acetate. (I'm not actually non-binary, I don't know what that is in all honesty!)
We should never rely on the 'help' of doctors, since they are insanely irritating and don't do much. At this point, it explains why government funded medical care is dying out...
You could actually see an endocrinologist/gender specialist and you can tell them that you are non-binary or something, and express how testosterone is making you want to crawl out of your own skin. It sounds a little dramatic, but sometimes you have to be dramatic to get what you want
I sort of envy all of you. I would gladly inhibit ALL of my testosterone, however, I have a beautiful girlfriend, I’m active especially surfing and the gyno just DESTROYS me. Cypro also made me gain a crazy amount of weight, fast. I’m going to stick with dutasteride, drop Cypro, start seti even just to mitigate some of pgd2 effects and I have to use minoxidil orally now. No other choice. My hair is awful and the itch on my right hairline is truly a nightmare

This is a table of the level of estrogen in the blood, depending on age. From this table we see that the reference values of estradiol in the blood range from 18 years and older from 40 to 170 picomoles. A table with testosterone next to it. Testosterone has a reference value of 4.5-42 picomoles. These are the highest values of 40-42! Estrogens in men should prevail 4-5 times. Estradiol is the dominant hormone by reference values and not testosterone! To avoid baldness. I started taking estradiol and began to feel better, the hair on my head began to grow! Estradiol needs every man! So that cardiovascular diseases do not develop! Che there was no balding! I see a lot of bald men in Russia! They think this is genetics and it should be so.

Hey Ziggy, I've been following your story a little. Didn't you use spironolactone with dutas at one point? I ask bc I am considering that combo. spironolactone is supposedly a little less harsh in the gyno dept., dose depending obviously.
Honestly, I’m interested in the whole cardiovascular department. Males within my family have a history of cardiovascular issues (e.g. blood clots, heart attacks) but I wonder why it’s just the men and none of the women... What if it’s due to androgens?!

Yes, this is because of androgens. Before taking estradiol, I suffered from nasal congestion and snoring. Now this is not there!

I have a slight update... When my nipples are hard (which is so frequent nowadays) the pain in my nipples diminishes slightly! Other than that, it has been two months and two weeks since I started an anti-androgen and estradiol, and I am starting to notice small hairs sprouting which almost appear as ‘little scalp hairs’. It’s weird to explain, but prior to starting medications I could see my scalps colour in between the hairs at mirror distance. Now, my scalp is starting to become more ‘grey’ in appearance from mirror distance since these dark ‘little scalp hairs’ are appearing. In terms with my hairline, there is definitely regrowth there; it’s easier to identify those since there aren’t other hairs in the way.
What is your regimen?
