So I have been on letrozole for one week now and it is working incredibly well. It has really shrunk my gyno down in size. My nipples are no longer puffy. Since I stopped taking estrogel in late April my gyno is half the size it is so much better now. I'll post pics again in a week or two so you guys can see the progress. I think after a month on letrozole it will barely be noticable at all.

How is your hair doing? Also, did your scalp itch on CPA + Estradiol?

I am panicking! I am not sure why my scalp itches for months... It's not severe, it's generally just an itch or two during the day which lasts for a few seconds. However, could this mean non of this is working?

Itch is always bad sign ... but it can also mean your body is adjusting to your new hormones profil.

Could it be due to dry scalp? This has been happening ever since I went on accutane

Yes it may be due to dry scalp. Do you use ketokonazole? I tend to get really itchy after using that. I added "define healthy scalp & hair shampoo" and "aussie miracle moist conditioner" every day (shampoo first, shower off and then let conditioner work in 3-5 minutes). It seems to work.

EDIT: Yes, accutane may cause it. I was on accutane 6 years ago and it dried my whole body out like a desert. Drink alot of water to keep you hydrated, urine should be pale yellow to transparent. I would also try a good conditioner like I said above.

I don't think it related to dry scalp. I could be wrong. But maybe if you're using that could dry your scalp it's best to drop it for a while.

I don't use Accutane anymore (Accutane stops your oil production completely which makes your scalp/skin severely dry. It gave me eczema all over my neck, as an example). I am just worried that it could be something else... What if I have hyperandrogenicity...?

I don't even know what's happening. I have painful nipples, no libido/sexual desire whatsoever, less body hair, facial feminisation, a 50% reduction in facial hair and I even have new hair growing on my scalp. But this itching just makes me feel like something might go wrong.

I hope it is just a dry scalp... I currently use a shampoo by Briogeo, which I enjoy for the condition of my hair. I might try Nizoral, but the scent of it makes me nauseous!

Accutane made my skin dry just after one month of use (I had to stop using it after a month of use). And, my oil production never came back... I'm not sure why that is, even my lips are skin desert dry. Do you experience itching on dutasteride?

I'm almost sure it's not hyperandrogenicty. it's pretty rare. And as you said you have facial feminisation, that's the good side, that's exclude R-Hyperan...
You shouldn't worry too much and just be patient.

Don't worry, i have scalp itch too but it's from minoxidil foam, if you have a dry scalp or dandruff that can also make your scalp itch alot, don't worry about hyprerandrogenicity it's rare.

I think it could actually be due to a dry scalp... I noticed flakes come out of my hair  What can I do to fix this?

Nizoral 2% works against dandruff, use it once or twice a week. Use hair conditioner after every time you use Nizoral, if not you might risk having a dry fried looking hair. And maybe add a dry scalp shampoo with zinc a few times a week (I use it every day now).

Hey Ziggy, I've been following your story a little. Didn't you use spironolactone with dutas at one point? I ask bc I am considering that combo. spironolactone is supposedly a little less harsh in the gyno dept., dose depending obviously.

Yeah I did and it’s less harsh, yeah. I’m allergic. I posted pics too.. I got urticaria on it and had to quit so I switched to Cypro. Never dropped dutasteride

It's a weird sensation. If I scratch my scalp, it has that same 'burning' sensation you get if you scratch dry skin (it's similar in feeling to when I would have eczema on my neck, where it just almost feels 'tight' and sensitive). I hope this isn't anything bad!!!!!!!!! :(:(:(

Thanks Zigs- Yes, it sounds like many have to drop spironolactone for various reasons. Is dutas alone holding things at bay?

It is always good to hear from you. How is your insomnia?

Thanks. My insomnia is mostly gone now and my sleep quality has been improving since I stopped my regimen but since I started taking letrozole my sleep and energy levels have been getting worse again but it's ok I knew that was going to happen on this drug. I'm being careful by only taking half a pill every other day so I don't completely crash like some guys do. Also I have found that going to bed at the same time every night has been a big help to falling and staying asleep.
