Hey gang, thought this might be a fun thread and possibly insightful.

Has anyone been exposed and whats your story?? How did you deal with it?

Im feel like im pretty close to taking the plunge, think i might start in the winter when its cooler so i can get the hang of things before the hot weather. But anyways, i wanna hear your stories about when you got exposed and how you reacted.... partly so ill have an idea of the best way to react... and partly to help myself realize it really wont be as bad as i imagine!

So whats your stories?? And be honest!

I can understand someone prefering you bald, but wouldn't you look like Larry from the three stooges once the system comes off seeing as to how you need hair on the sides to blend in the unit?

Check out my profile, I never grow my hair out more than a cm or two. It's very thin, so I prefer to keep it shaved. With the current style, I keep my head shaved totally bald.

The easiest way to do this is to have your natural hair super short, if not entirely shaved; so you don't look like an a**h** when the piece is off.

So basically an undercut type look?

That's pretty smart.

I'll tell you the truth I'm an avid body builder and steroid user and crushed that my last cycle caused damage to my hair. Even though I have a near full head of hair I'm now confronted with stopping the juice, or losing my hair. I'm considering a piece and possibly SMP as well done by a top guy.

This would give me the versatility to rock a shaved head look when I'm hot and sweaty at the gym and a nice piece when I want to rock the town.

Yeah, the undercut style is a gift for guys who wear a piece, especially if you want to be able to take it off and not look weird.

There is a pretty long tradition of successful bodybuilders wearing hairpieces to counteract the effects of steroids. I would guess with the huge increase of popularity of lifting and juicing, nowadays bodybuilders must be one of the main groups of guys resorting to hair replacement.

Steroids do not directly cause hair loss. However, if you are predisposed to male pattern baldness and hair loss it will certainly speed the process. That applies to your top and sides.

Can you quote an actual source for this? Everything I have read shows that anabolic steroids cause hair loss.

So, as in turns out, systems aren't undetectable after all? Why be upfront or open about wearing if you don't have to be?

Visually, yes, of course. Touch, no not always, but the emphasis was always visually.

You don't have to be upfront about them for people who only see you wearing them.

But with a loved one or sex partner, it would be silly to try and hide it, and there are a number of threads discussing just that.

Very rare for the sides and back of anyones hair to bald unless you have some kind of shock loss.

Steroids are known to hasten the balding process in prone men in traditional male pattern baldness zones, not turn people into cancer patients.

I speak from 20-plus years Real World experience in the bodybuilding industry, the majority of those under the direct care of an endocrinologist specializing in sports and fitness hormones. For one to imply a direct cause and effect between steroids and male pattern baldness... I would ask them to explain what happened with Arnold Schwarzenegger, Lou Ferrigno, Jay cutler, Dennis Wolf, Franco Colombu, Frank Zane, Dallas McCarver, Roelly Winklaar, Calum Von Monger, Tom Platts, Lee priest, Dorian Yates, and many many PRO bodybuilders with full heads of hair. Many of these guys are now in their late 50s to 70s and still have a tremendous amount of hair. They walked around for decades with daily testosterone levels north of 50,000 nanograms per deciliter, while also stacking 4-5 additional anabolic steroids. The average male is between 300 and 1000. The ones that are bald were on their way already and were predisposed genetically to male pattern baldness. Again, it will speed the process but it will not create male pattern baldness in someone that is not genetically predisposed. Simply put there is zero evidence to support cause and effect with regard to steroids and male pattern baldness.
