Facial hair

Anyone here gone past puberty but still not got much facial hair? I'm 29 FFS and only really stubble around the moustache area and underneath my chin. I'm starting to have more hair at the sideburns but only very very slowly. Nothing on my cheeks.

Body hair I have plenty on my chest. It's just a bit annoying really as a receding hairline without facial hair looks worse in my opinion. I read that a full beard might not develop until 10 years after puberty is complete and i was a late developer but this seems a bit ridiculous...

Yet another one of my concerns of taking finasteride is that I would obviously like this facial hair development to continue. I could wait another couple of years before using finasteride to see how it grows but who knows what the hair on my head will be like then...

I had my testosterone levels checked and they were very high. No idea about DHT but presumably due to my hairline I have a bit of that!! why is my facial haiir not growing? I am concerned that when my facial hair does really kick in then the hair on my head will be leaving me fast...

anyone in a similar boat or got advice/ideas?

I'm in a similar boat. I'm 25..can't really grow facial hair. I only have to shave like once a week and really only my mustache and chin grow hair...the sideburns grow a bit, but really nothing to talk about. Definitely could never go for the stubble look because I don't have enough density to do that at any place on my face. I don't really have much body hair at all either. The only hair part of me is my legs. Pretty much below the belt...anything above the belt is fairly hairless.

I'm also wondering if finasteride is going to stop the development of a beard. My dad was able to grow one in his 30s. I think that I'll never have really thick facial hair, but it SHOULD get better than it is now. Anyone know if taking finasteride will f*** this up?

My understanding is that DHT is essential for development of facial hair which is another reason why Im not sure about using it. It's f*cked up...some head hair and no facial hair or no head hair and some facial hair. woohoo what a choice.

No one knows for sure, but I think as usual its probably more complicated then just DHT. It might be that DHT triggers hair like facial hair to go terminal and starting growing then once that happens you can remove DHT but it keeps growing. It might be that testosterone also contributes or causes it to keep growing after DHT triggers it much like it does head hair to start miniaturizing. Again all theory but its safe to say androgens do have some role in facial hair/body hair which makes pretty good sense to me considering most normal women generally dont shave facial hair I hope.
I can say this for me personally my hair loss which is very minor and slow has went right in step with the very gradual chest hair/facial hair growth. I barely have much chest hair and it just came in last year but my head hair gets worse slowly along with it. I think current androgen theory is very sound. I know a guy at my store who is 40 with no facial hair and he has Norwood 0 not a hair lost from when he in high school. I just see lots of evidence that late age Norwood 0 men have no facial hair at old age.

Same here, turning 27 this week and always had weak facial hair growth, still can't connect a stache to the chin, there would be like a bald patch at the corners of my mouth, plus it all comes in weak and worse, ginger. I wouldn't be surprised to find out it was all correlated with MBP. The saving grace is no body hair either, which I am totally thankful for.

Worst part is that this is my little brother's hair:

and this is his stache:

WTF!??!?

Hey man if you get stuck with the latter there's definitely a good look to be had, like Technoviking:

I wish I could just grow a burly stache, cuz I would rock this look in a heartbeat:

If finasteride and minoxidil weren't working so well I'd be looking hard at how to make MBP work for me, and I think matching it to some facial hair in the right way provides some good opportunities to still look unique and confident rather than bald and broken. Just takes some creativity and style.
