Fat burning via pills, what´s the deal??

I´ve heard there are some kind of substances you can take to burn fat, cortisol blockers, carb blockers, metabolism raisers....


I train and play basketball in a semi-pro team three times a week, plus game day and I don´t want to go to gym or make extra sport-routines, but I have a layer of fat that I want to get rid of, and mantaining my actual diet/training plan is gonna be impossible.

So I´m interested in those pills, do they really work??

I just want to burn fat, not gain mass or anything.

Are they risky or do they alter performance?? Any side effects??

And, are they safe for hair??? :D

I know absolutely nothing on the matter so any opinion would be nice...

You may want to check into your league regulations before starting anything.

Depends on which one you are talking about. There are many choices.

Risk is minimal in an otherwise healthy adult. This depends on the strength of the product, your level of physical activity, and ofcourse the condition of your health prior to beginning. If you name some products you are interested in I can help you out more.

I´m a bit confused, I don´t know which one would be better for me. Can you recommendate one, please??

In my league doping controls are very very low, you have to be very unlucky to get tested once in the entire league.

I would like one that could have a fast effect, without exciting me much, as I have problems with sleep. It would be interesting they could enhance my calories burning during trainings.

And I don´t want to spend lots of money. I want to lose wheight fast and stop the intake, as mantaining would not be a problem for me.

What would you recommend??

You might want to take a look at a product from the company "Controlled Labs". It's called Red Acid. It's not overly expensive and it's not a super potent stimulant that will leave you bouncing off the walls. Overall it's a good product.

If you are looking to go stronger, you can check out the product Lipo-6 by a company called Nutrex or Redline by a company called VPX Sports. These are both pretty strong.

Whichever you decide to take, be ABSOLUTELY sure that you start with the minimum doseage so you can assess your tolerance and that you are healthy prior to using them. Also, are you in the US? All the products I mentioned are 100% legal in the US, but maybye not in other countries. So you may want to check into that so you don't get your package confiscated on you. If you are in the US, no worries. They are all fine.

Ok, C-lab seem a reliable brand. That´s the point, I don´t want it to be strong, just a stimulator for burning more calories with my same rythm and maybe an appetite supressor.

I´m healthy by now, but I haven´t been in a close medical check since some years ago. Also I don´t want stimulants because of the mild anxiety I commented to you.

Do I need my heart functions tested or something like that? A full medical examination? Or it is not such a strong thing??

I live in Spain, and never had a problem with a packet since I get my finasteride and minoxidil from foreign countries, and it´s prohibited to do so, but as I´ve said, never had a problem with the postal service!!:D :D

I would suggest the following supplements:

Mornings:
100 to 200 mcg of Chromium
75 mg Vitamin C
100 mg Glutamine
500 mg Acetyl L-Carnitine
1000 mg Conjugated Linoleic Acid

Noon:
100 mg Glutamine
500 mg Acetyl L-Carnitine
1000 mg Conjugated Linoleic Acid

Evenings:
100 mg Glutamine

These are naturally occuring substances in the body that are crucial in maintaining stable blood sugar levels and a healthy metabolism. They are available at most any health food store, or, you can buy them online at a pretty reasonable price.

Do a google on them if you want to learn more about each of the supplements. Good stuff.

Unfortunately I can't help you find any medical references on the products listed because they aren't for medicinal purposes. True medical trials do not exist for these products. They are OTC performance enhancers / fat loss supplements.

I overlooked the fact that you have trouble sleeping in your previous post. Sorry. You may want to consider The Gardener's advice instead and go with a more vitamin style approach. The stuff I mentioned to you has the potential side effects of:

- Rapid heart rate
- Increased body temperature
- Increased blood pressure
- Difficulty in sleeping
- Nausea
- Increase in sweating / water loss due to diuretic effect

Those are all possible if you are going to use real fat burners. Even the weaker ones like Red Acid are considered mild stimulants. Also, I may not have covered them all. I'm going to message you a website where you can find out more information on the potential risks on these kinds of things.

I´ve reading bodyboulding forums where people uses RA and people talk about those sides, but they just get them in the very first days. Also people tend to go with higher dosages.

Vitamin approach, well, I prefer a metod where I can just be on pills for a period, get rid of 5/6 kg and then quit, as manteinance is not a problem for me. Also I keep a healthy diet (as possible).

After reading your suggestions and the forums I´m considering to buy Red Acid as it seems pretty complete and solid, and it´s kind of popular in BB community, and try it at low doses, avoiding to take it in PM hours. Seems right to you?.

Sounds like a good plan. Just monitor what your body is telling you. Start with the lowest dose and if it seems too strong, don't take it. More than likely you will be fine though if you are healthy.

Ok then. I´ll be watching for reactions and be sure I´ll cut if something goes wrong. I hope I can get rid of this damned 6 Kg of fat easily with the product.

No problem just remember to keep your water intake very high because of the diuretic effect and keep the diet clean.
