Just an update, been on min and nizoral 4 months and finasteride, min, nizoral 2 months... So far looks like I'm losing progress...bad, but hoping for some turn around in coming months.

Anyone ever feel like needles poking into their head where they are balding? Is that feeling more hair follicles being destroys by dht and losing hair, or is that finasteride and min stimulating my follicles and new hairs growing?

Going to keep calm and keep taking finasteride min nizoral, hoping for good progress after a year passes. Otherwise I'll shave my head, but I have shaved my head before and...it looks pretty bad when shaved! Pls help me finasteride min nizoral!!

inflammation, acne, and sebum build up. A mixture of those, results in the body attacking the follicles.

Bad sign.

I would think nizoral would help with that... But makes sense because I daily condition only wash and only nizoral 3 times a week, so gonna cut the CO wash cus its probably making my scalp more oily, acne and possibly inflamated.

Also can minoxidil cause inflammation? Maybe I should step down to once a day?

Also can anyone else confirm that sebum and inflammation causes the body to attack its own hair follicles? I never heard that before and it sounds rather odd tbh.

I get this too, all day, everyday. It only appeared when I started taking finasteride. 3 months after stopping finasteride and I still have it.

Washing your hair with Nizoral only reaps the dandruff benefits.

To get the anti-androgen benefits, and block DHT you need to leave it in the hair over night. What I do every night is splash a bit of water on hair, Nickle size of nizoral in palm and even distribute all over scalp. It'll look latherish at first, but will absorb in a matter of minutes. Feels great. Rinse in the morning.

Wouldn't it be more beneficial to buy Ketaconazole 2% cream and use it overnight instead of nizoral. Don't know if many scalps can take SLS for 8 hours

Really?!

I only leave it on for 5-10 minutes when I m showering. I thought leaving it on for too long would be bad.

I had that same issue. At one year mark on finasteride and 2 year mark on minoxidil, my scalp pretty much lost it and all my progress went wayyyyyyy down hill. I quit minoxidil and stayed with finasteride, also switched to Merck brand.

Questions to help you:
-do you use liquid minoxidil? Where?
-is your scalp getting oily?
-is the pain loacalized to just hairline?

My pain has gone away with the use of tea tree oil shampoo and time, however you could have seborrheic dermatitis. You need to see a dermatologist while the pain is active because I didn't and it slowly went.

My theory is that finasteride causes a hormonal imbalance for some and it raises testosterone to a level that send the body into shock, thus creating skin problems like dermatitis. You've only been on for 2 months so you may want to discuss quitting with you derm.

Good luck man, try and get some blood work for hormone levels.
