Where did you get finasteride from? I asked my doctor for a proscar prescription but he wouldn't give me it.

alldaychemist, and I used it for fear of the exact reasons you stated, couldn't waste money on pointless doctor trips if they decided to not give me a prescription.

There are some precautions you should take though. Make sure you use a virtual account number (certain credit cards allow you to do this- it's a temp CC number) or perhaps a money order. They are legit but it's better to not use your main account info. Also do not give out your home or mobile number. It takes a long time to ship too. Took about 3 weeks to reach my house after ordering it. Definitely do a bit of research so you know what to expect. I ordered a year's supply (90 pills) of Fincar.

1 month UPDATE:

Hair looking worse in general, not sure why. Shedding seems to be the same rate, has not increased nor slowed. Have not missed a dose. Kicked Nizoral up to 3x a week this week...not sure if I will keep using nizoral or what. Not sure what it does beyond dandruff control. Seems to do nothing for balding. Ball ache seems to be the only side effect. Woke up with it the worst yesterday morning, but it is not persistent. Comes and goes. Did get a canker sore in my mouth this week, not sure if it's from hormone changes or what. Semen/erections seem normal, no sides there. Will update around month 2 or 3.

Strange I also got a canker sore during the same time, accompanied by ball ache.

This is maybe the 3rd one in my entire life. I read up on them and they're more likely to happen during puberty, which is why I was thinking it could have to do with hormone fluctuation. Also noticed my forehead is a bit greasier than normal. Perhaps this is all from an increase in testosterone since it's not being converted to DHT?

MINI 2 MONTH UPDATE:

Been noticing a few sexual sides recently that have me concerned. The ball ache stopped but then I noticed reduced ejaculation amount. Now I'm noticing a sudden libido crash and trouble getting and maintain an erection. And the erections I do get are soft.

I am hoping this is a coincidence as I've got a lot on my mind in my personal life recently. That doubt is creeping into my mind though, and the scary stories are starting to worry me. I'll give it a few more weeks before thinking of lowering my dose.

Had an odd thing happen last week. My left ear became severely impacted with wax. I could barely hear ANYTHING. This has never been a problem for me before, I hadn't showered beforehand, didn't stick anything in my ears.

I'm wondering if increased wax production has to do with hormone fluctuation.

Everything else seems good downstairs. No more ball ache.

My hair looks worse recently. My thinning spot on the left temple hairline has gotten much worse looking. I can only hope that this is due to shedding. If not, it means the pills aren't doing much. I know you shouldn't see results at this point but I would hope that by now it's at least halted the balding process.

I'll check back at 3 months.

Are you sure you're not just being over-sensitive?

If I think back I'm sure I can remember all kinds of semen amounts and erection strength, but without finasteride in your system you would probably not think anything of it. I started finasteride 2 days ago, and I must admit that the constant self-analysis for sides is a bit worse than I imagined. But nothing to report. I'm trying to be really rational and objective, so I'll update if I feel anything that is def out of my normal ranges and I would consider a real side.

I've decided to drop Nizoral from my routine. In fact, I'm dropping T/Gel as well. I have been using nothing but baby shampoo for the past week or so and my hair looks and behaves much better. I will use T/Gel maybe 1-2 times a month to control dandruff but that is it.

I have been using Nizoral twice a week for 5 months now and it has done nothing for my balding or my hair, and I cannot seem to find any data as to how it exactly helps. All I know is it turns my hair into this plastic, unmanageable texture that really makes me look way balder in the long run.

Keto has strong anti inflammatory effects which could be why it helps some people regrow hair. It's also a very mild androgen receptor antagonist. Basically, you should keep using some form of keto (1 or 2 percent) to keep ur scalp nice and healthy

Well, it's been over 3 months and my hair looks the same, if not worse. I need to get a haircut soon. Been taking finasteride 1.25 mg every day without fail.

The good news is that the sides have gone away. No more ball ache or anything else. I had a canker sore and a plugged ear (with dead skin and ear wax, something I have never experienced before), so anyone starting finasteride should know it can do some wacky things with hormonal reactions. But I'm back to normal now.

Here's hoping the next 3 months bring more visible results.

I will if there are noticeable results.

No clue why. In my almost 30 years I have never experienced that. Had to flush so much wax out.

I am currently just over a month on Finasteride. I got the 5mg prescribed to me. So far, maybe very mild ball ache, but nothing so severe to leave me certain it was the finasteride. So basically no side effects and I don't worry about them coming into play at all. As for my hair, much progress in just this one month. I'm actually surprised. I'm 21, so it may be more effective on a guy closer to 20 than 30, I'm not sure. But I've noticed some hair regrowth on the crown and possibly a little along the hairline.

I'm currently toggling between Nioxin shampoo and Regenepure shampoo, and I use Nioxin conditioner with both. Hoping you start to receive some strong visible results, big head. Keep us updated.

I need a haircut, but my hair seems a lot thinner in the front. No visible thickening or regrowth. Either getting worse or staying the same, can't tell yet. Have a lot of zits forming on my forehead that I usually do not suffer from. Might be a hormonal reaction. Have not missed a dose yet.

Started at around the same time as you and mine is similar, seems worse especially the hairline, was considering quitting.

I wouldn't quit so soon. Sometimes it takes more than a year to see good results and it could be stopping or slowing our baldness anyway. I have a year supply so I will finish the entire supply and take pics along the way to compare and then make a judgement call.

My hair seemed to get worse in the first 4 months.

Now Im at 6 months and it might be turning around (maybe)?

All I can say is dont overthink it. It seems like you are from your posts. No offense, I did the same thing, but it won't get you anywhere.

Now that you have decided to take finasteride, just pop the pill everyday and forget about it.

Also take good pictures, its the only way to track progress. Your memory plays tricks on you.
