First some background.
I started using propecia when i was 18/19 years old, shortly after I noticed I was thinning. I used it for about 1 1/2 years. I was still thinning slowly so I decided to stop using it and in the mean time I have been using nothing to fight my male pattern baldness. I am now 23 years old and have thinned out considerably in the time I have not been using any hairloss products.

I'm ready to continue the fight. I plan to get back on Propecia as well as start a Minoxidil regimen of some sort. I am currently attending a University so my life is pretty fast paced. What do you think the best minoxidil. regimen would be for me?

I was thinking Rogaine Foam 2X a day because I've read that it dries very fast. I would be able to apply it on and walk out the door. But I have also read that Rogaine Foam can be hard to apply and sometimes not reach the scalp because it's getting stuck in the hair.

So I have been thinking maybe Rogaine Foam in the morning and Generic Liquid Minoxidil at night? This would save me some money and guarantee me that the liquid application of minoxidil is reaching my scalp and I wont have any doubts.

So what do you guys think would be best for me based on what I just told you. 2X a day Rogaine Foam, 1X Foam and 1X Generic minoxidil. OR 2x Generic minoxidil?

ahhh. big step for me

Hey I started the foam about two weeks ago and while it is best for short hair I would say it is better cosmetically for diffuse thinners since regular rogaine takes forever to dry and can sometimes be itchy depending on how sensitive your skin is. What I do is take about half a cap-full or 2/3 in the beginning and part the areas where I was thinning the worse and would gently rub it into the skin.

Hope that helps.

I started using Rogaine Foam in university as well. Dries really quickly. After about 10mins I would take a towel and softly run it through my hair without touching the scalp. Coulnd't tell I put anything in my hair after that.

As for mixing Foam and liquid, you can give it a shot. Even though they are technically the same thing, many people on this forum have gone from one to the other and had a shed. But only when using one for a long time and then switching over to the other.

Will it be counter productive to use both the Foam and a Generic minoxidil? I remember there being a thread about it but I cant find it through the search. Do you guys think I would be better off sticking with one brand of minoxidil?

i use the liquid at night because it cheaper

and the foam during the day because it doesn't make your head look like a greasy meatball for 5 hours

ive been doing this for 6 months and seeing results

so to answer your question its ok to use both at one time

ive only heard stories of people experiencing a temporary shed when they switch from one to the other

cheers mate
