You're 36, right? What's the state of your friends' hair who are similar to your age? Compared to them, would you say your hair is better?
Five months ago, it was total sh*t. Most were better unless they were just a chrome dome. Bottom 30%.

Now, I'm better than most, all but the lucky ones that haven't lost sh*t, or have just a bit of recession or crown thinning. Top 20, maybe 30%

Yea, I was gonna say you should be in the higher percentile. I'm 27 in a couple of months and I occasionally peep people who I used to go school with on Facebook and some of their hair is terrible.

Yeah I'd say before I could play cover up ok, just didn't have a style to it, couldn't. So hat slave it was. Even a reasonably dense nw3 was better, only nw4 and onward (or heavy diffusion or combination of) was worse.

Yeah I'd say when ppl started to leap frog me, to at least put me in the bottom 30%, instead of 15%, was around age 33. I had extremely slow loss.

What's your minoxidil routine like? Foam or liquid? Which brand do you use? Apply it all over or just hairline? Do you dermaroll or just rub it in normally?

All standard. Kirkland min 2x daily, foam be morning n liquid at night because foam is less messy. I also use a hair dryer to liquify the foam so it gets to the scalp n doesn't rest on hair. about a ml, maybe 1.3. on the hairline n crown mostly, but a little everywhere. 1mg generic finasteride per day.

Ok so here's the update at 6 months------------------------------

Just turned 37, everything is moving along with the finasteride results. It looks a bit better than at 5 months. Don't really have to use dermatch anymore, although it does make the hairline look a little stronger as well as the crown.

Here's the typical shot I take, and a pic of me with the hair styled. I also included 1 before, and a 3 month shot so you don't have to go back to the first page. I'm not using any concealer in any of the pics.

I'm thinking of just going with foam minoxidil, and hair drying the foam in the cap to liquefy it (as I have been) 2x a day. I might even just drop it to once a day, and apply 2.5mg. Twice a day is really wearing on me after going on 3 years with this sh*t. Who know's if it even is doing much of anything. I'm thinking of weaning myself off after 2 years on finasteride, when I get full results, and see if I experience any kind of a shed. If I do, or if the hair quality gets worse over the next 9 months to a year, get back on 1x a day, if not, stay off.

Any questions about anything, just ask.

I wonder why he isn't active anymore. Either he got sides or it went so well that he just left and goes on with his life. Would have liked to see more updates.
