What do you mean by didn't work? How quickly did you continue to lose while on dutasteride? What Norwood did you start at and what are you now?

Maybe yes, your loss could have been just too aggressive, or maybe you have a genetic resistance to dutasteride.

hmmm, surely if sum1 was going bald before 20 it was going to be aggresive?

i dont really understand this aggresive male pattern baldness business atall.

well, ive been slowly thinning since I was about 17 and im now 30, but I still have virtually a full head of hair, albeit with receded temples and thin around the crown. There is no slick baldness. I wouldnt call that aggressive even though I started losing hair early on. Plus, my hair has responded quite well to treatment.

not all male hair loss is caused by male pattern baldness. i highly doubt that 90% statistic as it is from dermatologists who as we know don't really think about male pattern baldness at all.

if neither finasteride nor dutasteride has shown any improvement after two years i think you have to start looking at other possible causes. Get thyroid levels checked, an insulin response test done, iron levels etc. also minoxidil would probably regrow hair on your head even if it wasnt male pattern baldness, as it works by a totally different method. my opinion.

I started thinning around the age of 18, i started with a Norwood 1 ( no diffuse thinning), now im a Norwood 2 diffuse thinning all over. Nearly every male in the family is bald, so maybe thats why finasteride and dutasteride didnt work. The worst area is just behind my hair line (frontal), its starting to shine. I just thought if finasteride didnt work dutasteride would forsure. Maybe male pattern baldness isnt all about DHT

goddamn you are throwing the kitchen sink at it arent you. i can't think of anything else to add to that regimen honestly. nothig that i could consider even slightly sensible. some might suggest oral spironolactone but i think that is getting a little on the dicey side myself.

how does your scalp look other than the male pattern baldness. is the skin irritated or anything else notable?

I can't afford the grape seed extract right now, but I'm taking the others. I think they help, but indirectly. Even if it doesn't help my hair in the long run increased glutathione is about the healthiest thing that you can do for yourself. Basically ALL ILLNESS is related in some form or fashion to free radical damage and glutathione is the main anti-oxidant to fight free radicals. Cysteine (NAC) is a sulfer donor too, which is the same reason why MSM would work. MSM, however, does nothing to boost glutathione.

powersam, scalp looks healthy, no irritation. Im just going to give the treatment a bit more, then add xandrox 15%, if that doesnt work, then im just going to have to shave it.

I agree, maybe get your thyroid checked and measure underarm temperature too (10min on waking -- google it).

White spots on fingernails? What causes that?

Goingat, when was the last time you have a routine blood test panel, anything out of the ref range? Liver enzymes normal?

White spots on fingernails are very common and have nothing to due with any type of dificiency. They are normally cause by an injury to the nail, like banging it on something.

Same as when i was on finasteride, during the 2 years using dutasteride my hair continued to get worse. I lost hair pretty quick considering the amount i had before starting it.
