Does anyone have any abstracts of studies or strong anecdotal evidence linking finasteride with any receptor downgrade?
I have been reading quite a few anecdotes from people that have killed their HPTA - some from weeks of use, some form 10 years plus. I have noted a few consistencies:
1) These men feel loss of libido, reduced brain function, etc. The strange thing in their blood tests is that most hormones are within range.
2) Many of these men seem to have high SHBG, which I tested high for 2 YEARS after stopping last time. Consistent with this, their Free T levels are on the very low end of the range. Many of these men seem to report some feminizing characteristics as well.
3) Most endocrinologists are unwilling to treat these men, due to their seemingly normal blood tests.
My logical deduction is that these men have cause receptor downgrade, as the doctors who are willing to treat these men have reported that the men only seem to feel normal once their T and Free T are well outside the high range after TRT and other treatments.
I know that the human hormonal balance and feedback loops are much more complex than this, but I'm curious if there has been any documentation of reversible and/or irreversible receptor impairment.
I am feeling that finasteride is going to be successful for my Hairline, but am concerned about some of the preliminary indications of side effects I have just started seeing after 6 weeks.
THANKS FOR YOUR FEEDBACK
