So, ive been on the big 3 for a year now (4/20) and I've noticed some things. I have had alot of thickness in my existing hairs and had alot of dwarfed hairs grow up to be normal, terminal hairs. Now most of my regrowth was along the top of my head and the crown. But for my temples and hairline, I have noticed tons of white to semi-colored hairs growing there. Most have been this way for 4-5 months and they are just growing longer, but very very slowly.
Finasteride only binds with Type 1 5a-reductase. Knowing this, I think that alot of our frontal hairs are attacked by both type 1 and type 2 reductase as these frontal hairs seem like they are only partially effected by the finasteride. Since minoxidil is only a growth stimulator, it is just making them grow faster but not thicker or darker.
Im sure this is why avodart is "suppose" to me more effective, but I myself havent heard of any real success stories from avodart yet.
