I think finasteride should only be taken orally if you have a life threatening condition. Look at the finasteride paper I referenced to in the earlier post and count the number of times the words "persistent, irreversible and permanent" appear in the paper. The drug is potent down to 0.05mg oral, that has been documented. And taking 0.2mg has the same effect as taking 1mg. We know the drug lowers DHT to castration levels, we know it causes sexual and mental problems. All documented and proven as statistically significant.
It doesnt lower DHT to castration levels. I do think the neurosteroids and the central nervous system is why finasteride causes the sexual side effects that it does. Really in a perfect world they would reformulate finasteride to not inhibit 5 ar 3 or any neurosteroids. Just target DHT some other way or through a different enzyme or part of this path. We know they wont though its too expensive.
Finasteride isnt perfect, but its the best we have. It cant be too dangerous for most men 20 years out because we have tons of men right now meeting those conditions.
