Finasteride dosage

I've read several places that the dosage of finasteride to treat hair loss is too high, and that a dosage as low as 0.2 can have the same effect as 1mg. Is there any truth to this, or do you have to take as much as 1mg to see the full effect?

I have experimented with low doses of finasteride. On 1mg side effects were more prominent and i switched to 0.5 mg for a few years. I had great results and then decieded to lower the dose further to 0.25mg. I used this for some time aswell and still kept maintaining my hair.

As of now I am off finasteride, but may go back to 0.25mg eod if my topical regimen does not suffice. Currently|I am using fluridil and spironolactone along with a few other products.

Have any other members experimented with low doses of finasteride? What is the absolute lowest anyone has used with results? Does a smaller dose matter or are the effects (ie hair thickening) a result of cumulative finasteride build up in our systems?

I am currently taking 0.25 mg EOD for 4 months and I can tell you that the side effects totally disappeared after the 2nd month and some of the peach fuzz that I developed with Minoxidil are slowly turning terminal.
