finasteride + dutasteride together- starting to get great results but is it safe ?

hi guys

quick background story ...

been on finasteride for 2 years minoxidil for about 4 . stopped minoxidil and went on nanox for 6 months and lost loads of hair

2 month ago started diluted minoxidil approx 2.5 % and 0.5 mg dutasteride once a week , finasteride other 6 days

1 month ago upped dutasteride to 1 every 4 days finasteride other days

now ive got what feels to be some major regrowth happening , my head is full of stubble type hairs ( im a diffuse thinner ) and ive not noticed any side effects - it seems as if im getting back what i lost while on nanox and a lot more !

what im wondering is if anyone else is doing this and getting similar results and is it safe ? i think im one of those unlucky guys who has really high testosterone levels as ive no sides and my hair loss was aggressive before i started finasteride ...

cheers !

Hi,

I have a similar experience to share, myself a diffuse thinner... started my journey on the Big 3 last October with minoxidil, Finasteride and Nizoral... I was seeing good results with it and 8 months in I added dutasteride twice a week to my regime... its been 2 month on it and I am going through a hair shed however the thickness of hair on my scalp seems to be better than ever... it seems to be working so i'll give it another 4 months and then assess the situation... so far looking good and if its the same for ya then id suggest you stick with it...

dutasteride is not approved for hair loss so I say no its not safe to use long term.

I am so ready to try this with 0.5 dutasteride per week with finasteride everyday with minoxidil. My diffusion is getting way too excessive.

Well, if it wasnt high already, dutasteride will surely raise it.

Yeah I guess it just depends what you mean by long term. Basically have no idea what long term removing DHT would do until someone lives their whole life without it and we see what happens. I wouldnt want to experiment with my health to try keeping hair but everyone is different I guess.

I switched to dutasteride last month ... Day With dutasteride , day with finasteride but the shed I've gone through in that month is crazy. Think I'll just go back to propecia as there have been no long term studdies on dutasteride . I just got greedy I guess

I plan on taking my current 2.5mg finasteride and 0.5 dutasteride 1 tab per week and see how it goes. Maybe later will back down to 1mg finasteride daily.

fda has approved it for men over 50 with bph problems, not for young men with hairloss

as one doctor has said to me over an email when I asked him about avodart that avodart hasn't been proven in a real study to be better than finasteride.

And not all doctors have been proven to be good. Your doctor spreads mystifications, because dutasteride is a way more effective than finasteride.

Although not approved for hairloss it is safe since the FDA have approved it. I think it is fine to use both but what is the point since dutasteride is stronger so all you are doing is throwing away money spent on finasteride.

I have plenty of finasteride left just need a small bump to lower DHT with dutasteride but not go crazy taking it everyday. It should be the best method and have minimal sides and shed. I've been on finasteride for 12 years and my thinning hair is excessive diffuse at 48.

Are you saying that the site is fake? Come on, seriously? There have been many reports that dutasteride works on forums like these. Its not IF it works, its if it WORKS better than propecia. That we don't really know. Some say dutasteride works faster, but in the long run its the same as Propecia.
