Finasteride has wrecked havoc on my mental health

The pathetic part is, I only took two doses of 0.25 mg before stopping completely.

Took my first 0.25 mg on September 15, and my second on the 17th. Since then, I have been having headaches, brain fog, trouble concentrating, ect.

I think the fog has lifted, for the most part, I feel clearer. But I've been getting headaches now (didn't at first) and what feels like bee stings around my whole body.

Am I ever going to feel normal again? As a student, this has been really hard on me.

I should also probably add that I've been taking 20 mg of Citalopram for 5 years. I really think the fact that I've been on Citalopram for so long gave me a bad reaction to finasteride.

i take citalopram too and theres no way finasteride would give you side effects if you have only taken .5mg of the drug. When I took my first pill I was conviced it had left messed me up sexually and I was getting brain fog too, but I realised that it was just my hypochondria and anxiety making me react that way. Side effects are very rare so you shoulnt worry. Ive been taking it for 8 months and haven't noticed any side effects... sadly it hasn't stopped my hair falling out though!!

it's not pathetic, and its not any less reasonable to expect it after your first pill than after your 50th given finasteride's MOA.

the good news is your brain fog has subsided a considerable degree. I don't believe in permanent sides, but it generally takes a month to two to really feel like your old self.

Come on guys, it's almost impossible that 2 doses of 0,25 mg of finasteride can cause "mental problems" or other type of problem.
2 doses of 0,25? That's nothing, nada, negligible...
How can a rational person come up with such absurdity? And this is not the first case.
The explanation is mopst probably psychological, or it can be, as you say, some reaction with the other drug you're taking for...5 years??? Wtf? so you take a drug for 5 years, don't blame it for anything, and now took two tiny doses of another drug, and...bang this another drug desttroyed your mental health? Do you even realise how does this sound?
Ok, if let's say you were taking finasteride for, let's say, 10 years, then, other story, you would be credible, but two 0,25 doses?

Lol my thoughts exactly, like they are swallowing poison apparently with no regard about how medicine in general works. Shows the effect of all these anti finasteride campaigns.

I bet someone has side effects from just seeing the tablet in front of him.

I know it sounds silly considering the duration, but I was honestly hit hard by it. It's been over a month since I took my second (and last) pill of Propecia and I feel like I'm almost back to my old self.

It was not a placebo effect. I know my body. I was not even worrying or thinking about getting side effects before taking the drug. I just got them, and they (the mental sides) really became noticeable once I took my morning pill of Citalopram after having taken finasteride the night before.

You can argue its unlikely, but to say lowering a hormone substantially that no one can explain exactly what it does has no chance at doing this? Brain fog is lowering neurosteroids in the brain if its real. Taking a tiny dose of finasteride could dramatically lower them in some people but here is the thing we dont know. We dont know what neurosteroids do, how they respond to finasteride dose or anything. Its all guessing.
Its possible, but unlikely a tiny dose has some effect on the brain
