finasteride is down to luck

On this site, i've seen many success stories that vary from great regrowth too light maintainence, however many people say silly comments like 'finasteride will only maintain'. It obviously regrows hair for some people, but it seems its just down to how you react to it, in other words luck.

Is there any study on the good responders to finasteride and the bad? For instance, do those who respond well have a specific hair colour/texture? Do those with fine, light hair respond less?

This has baffled me. The fact that the whole drug is based on basically waiting to see what prize your gonna get, a widescreen tv or a wet flannel :hump:

Good question, I'm curious myself. I've been on it for the past 2 years and I've maintained, but that's really it. I like to think that I've grown some hair back, but I was never too bad to begin with. My hair hasn't receded any and it's still decently thick all around. So I've been happy with the results so far.

you will find that most types of medication are down to 'luck' in the sense they dont always work or have varying degrees of success.
