Did you have side effects???

Yes I took it for less than week, lost sensation in penis and developed a bad curve to left in penis, both are still present almost six months later, I am not scaremonger and think the vast majority who take it don't have problems I was very unlucky.

Like the man says above I never had the crash that many talk about, I just woke up and things were not the same it was like penis does not sense being touched very weird feeling, from there I stopped immediately but then slowly developed a bad curve to left, My libido is shot also, I have no desire to have sex still to this moment, Like a switch was flicked. I have been doing better mentally though, not as panicked and anxious, I've almost come to accept it and things can only get better for me in that department even if it takes a few years. The only indicator I had that something could go wrong was I got a sharp pain in balls and penis night before I woke other than that everything seemed good.

After 2-3 years of not getting on propecia due to side effects fear, I was planning to get on it finally but this study that has come up now has made my fears worse than ever. Are there people on this forum who will now get off propecia , as it is confirmed that side effects are not phychological

It doesn't necessarily confirm that side effects are not psychological it just confirms that men have reported persistent side effects that last for years, it doesn't drill down into the actual cause, that's what I need to see and is what the foundation should be funding studies into, what is it that causes the problems, Harvard failed for them because it didn't find the answer in fact it was bad for the foundation, I still think the Harvard one is very important as it rules out a lot of what many thought was the problem, this just confirms what many have been saying for years.

Can anyone explain to me how they selected the 'cases' they used, and why exactly is ED a lot more common among users under 40?

@casperz your dermarolling thread isnt working

That topic was banned and all the threads deleted. That is why there is a red X on my avatar. I was doing it responsibly but one member was making their scalp look like hamburger and posting pictures. I think it does work and still use it but that's all I can say because I respect the site's right to limit certain subjects that might get them sued. Done to excess I think it's probably very bad for growth.

I think the sexual dysfunction is from it inhibiting the neurosteroids in the brain that they might not have known much about back when it came out. So its related to the depression, brain fog some men complain of is probably also related to the sexual function. Since sexual function is also related to brain function.

Some men dropped out of the original Merk study.

So really, we won't know how high the side effects are. Most doctor's who
prescribe the scored Proscar amount say five percent.

Really, we don't know until it's tried by the general population.

What I have been saying all along. You risk permanent erectile dysfunction with no reversal mechanism.

It's funny. I really don't know of too many people who ever got out of PFS.

It seems the only men who did micro dosed, and then stopped.

I think micro dosing at the beginning is smart.

That said, I never had sides with one milligram. With more, I definitely get them.

This is what confuses me, finasteride blocks DHT just bellow 70%. The amount left is higher or on par with female DHT levels. So females should be depressed and foggy all the time. Why is this not the case?

Dude, I think there isn't such censorship nowadays. It would be nice if you could repost your experience!

Any moderator to confirm or deny this?

Totally agree. For me, the titration approach to finn is the best possible way to glide smoothly into the finasteride life!

Finasteride does a lot more than reduce DHT.

Can i read up on that somewhere?

The following reactions are known to be catalyzed by 5α-reductase:[9]

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/5α-Reductase

Alloprehnanolone deficiency is believed to be a significant cause of finasteride sides, but I don't know if that's demonstrated.
