I assume I can put my minxodil into a smaller, clear bottle no problem. But with generic (non prescription) Finasteride, am I going to run into a suspicious questions? I don't really fancy standing at security, answering
questions related to my hair loss in front of a small audience of Holiday makers.

I'd also like to know this with regards to minoxidil. Not sure whether to buy a three month supply and take it on the plane (I'm living abroad for a while) or buy more when I'm over there. The rules around carrying liquids on the plane were quite stringent last time I flew.
You can just mail it anyway so just buy wherever it's cheaper

I usually put in my check in bags, I've put finasteride and minoxidil in my luggage twice to Japan, which is crazy strict on drugs, and it's been fine. I wouldn't put either in my carry on. Usually liquids over 100 ml are confiscated, though minoxidil usually comes in 60 ml bottles so maybe it's okay...

No experience with finasteride, but I've been traveling with a couple of cans of rogaine halfway across the world and haven't had any issues yet. Just put it in your check in luggage.

finasteride is fine in carry on I do this all the time. Even though minoxidil liquid comes under the amount able I'd still put it on check-in last thing I would want is some TSA jerkoff checking it infront of other people.

Dude I travel a fair bit at times so will advise here. It does sometimes come down to individual airlines but finasteride is NEVER a problem in carry on luggage, it's a tablet. No one gives a ****. I am located in the UK too like you. The problem is with minoxidil and although I am not on it, be aware you can't have a liquid container over 100 ml. Kirkland is 60 ml, should be ok no issues there. Do NOT put it into a travel spray to hide your hair loss treatment. I know I like being discreet too like you, but if security see an anonymous liquid, it will raise alarms. Even if under 100 ml. You could put it into an empty cologne bottle or something. Either way, they may still quiz you on Minoxidil.

Haha...reminds me of this story I read (could have been fabricated) of some single woman who's vibrator went off in her luggage and the airport staff opened her suitcase right there for the world to see.

I didn't have any issues, but I haven't traveled by plane for a while. Has anything changed? Should I be prepared for any issues?

You should be fine putting your minoxidil in a smaller bottle, but it's wise to keep it clearly labeled. For the Finasteride, just bring the original packaging if possible to avoid any questions. I had the same worries, so I decided to contact frontier airlines customer service for clarification. They told me there wouldn't be any issues. And it was true. Safe travels!

Totally get where you're coming from — airport security lines aren’t exactly the place you want to have a chat about hair loss!

You should be fine transferring minoxidil into a smaller clear bottle, just make sure it’s well-labeled and within the liquid limit (100ml if you're flying carry-on). As for generic finasteride, since it’s in pill form and not a controlled substance, it usually doesn't raise any red flags — especially if it's in its original packaging or a clearly labeled pill organizer.

To avoid awkward questions, it’s a good idea to keep any meds in your hand luggage with a copy of the prescription or even just the pharmacy label if you have one — even for over-the-counter meds.

Better to be a bit prepared than caught explaining hair regrowth strategies in front of a full departure lounge . Safe travels!
