Finasteride propecia and reults

Hi everyone. I have been taking 1mg Finasteride for a year now and I hardly noticed any positive results. My hair loss didnt stop and I dont see any growth in hair in my balding areas of my head. I think I am norwood 4 but I feel like I lost a lot in the past two years. Every time I take a shower I lose around 200 hairs and Finasteride hasnt shown any slowness in my hair loss.

I am taking Finasteride 1mg made by Accord pharmaceutical I buy from CVS Pharmacy. Anyone can provide feedback or if I should stop taking the pills at this point?

Though Senior members here can give better reply, but as per my knowledge if finasteride is not working for you than you can add Minoxidil in your regime.
You can also talk to your doctor about increasing dosage of finasteride or switching to dutasteride.

It can take longer to work but if you're noticing an increase in your male pattern baldness then you should consider using Minoxidil.

Do you think changing to original Propecia brand can make a difference? I know some people will say Finasteride is Finasteride and brand doesnt matter.

I think if you arent seeing any results after 1 year, you may be one of the unlucky non responders.

Keep in mind maintenance and not regrowth is a good result

Did you have any side effects? You may want to try another pharmacy so you get a different brand generic.

I notice a lot of hair falling when taking a shower. Around 200 hair and I usually shower every other day using Nizoral shampoo, Head and shoulders, and an organic green tea shampoo from "The body shop". I dont use any gels or conditioners or any other product for the hair since they may contributed to my hair loss. I do notice a little bit of sides and it may have to do with using Finasteride. I am thinking to get the original propecia brand as the Accord brand is not having any affect. Not sure if it is the brand or is it that I am not responding too well to it. I am shedding mainly from the top and front of my scalp. I have alot of hair everywhere else.

Nizoral can be harsh too...it was for me..i shed a lot when i was on it. Add a good conditioner after shampoo because conditioner help soothing of hairs

I have some questions for those who replied to this thread or those who are following it. How much do you think is falling from your head when taking a shower and how often do you shower? Have you experienced any sides from taking the pills? What brand Finasteride are you taking or is it the original propecia brand? Thanks
