finasteride seized - "Enforcement Unit will be in touch soon"

As finasteride is not available as Propecia in Ireland I was forced to order on-line from united pharmacy. This was my third time ordering and have been on it for over a year now with great results.

This latest order, a package of 300 tabs, was seized by customs and I received a letter saying the Enforcement Unit of the Irish Medicines Board will be in touch soon. On one hand I'm thinking this is blessing in disguise that I can finally stop taking this stuff and go back to the buzz cut. On the other hand however, if it is actually doing me no harm and regrowing/maintaining my hair, it seems like such a waste to stop it. I called the "Enforcement Unit of the Irish Medicines Board" and they said it was united pharmacy that broke the law so have just closed the case.

Any thoughts on this? Had one last good year with a hair style, but I guess it just wasn't meant to be...

I wouldn't quit the meds if you have regrown/maintained.
I'd just place an order from another reputable pharmacy eg Inhouse

I'm from Ireland too , never had a problem with United Pharmacies , actually it is the only one the worked for me. I went for proscar which made it a lot smaller of a package and my guess is that is why I didn't get caught. I've been caught before with another online pharmacy , got a letter in the post about seizure and that I will be notified in 20 days about what will happen next. Never got back to me though...

If you contact united pharm about what happened, from what I understand they will replace your order free of charge.

Received the enforcement letter now via registered post so will have to reply to that... Also, United Pharmacy have credited my credit card as they say the Irish customs are no longer allowing finasteride to pass so it would be pointless to try send it again. That was decent of them!

From a 26 y/o for the past 1.5 years on finasteride and rogaine I can say 100% it works wonders. Massive regrowth experienced and I would probably have continued it indefinitely. Was always slightly concerned about long term consequences so am indifferent about stopping. Good luck everybody.

Well if I were in your shoes after good results I wouldn't just give up, go to a doctor and convince him to give you a script for Proscar. It will be more expensive but you can still cut the pills to save a bit.
