Hello, I am writing this thread to get some advice for my decision.
I am 25 years old and i was at my doctors office yesterday and spoke to him about propecia.
I ran tests and my testosterone level is average for guys my age.
However the big question for me is because through out the years i have sturggled at times with ED.
This problem has resolved it self the last year, so what im worried about is that if i start propecia its going to fu me over and give me ED again. ( seeing as i have strugged with it before at times).
However im losing a lot of hairs, but its in decent shape still and i really really want to keep it.
what do you guys think?
P.S
There are photos of my hair in my older post

I just started propecia 2 days ago , honestly I'm glad I'm doing it. If I get sides I will stop but at least I know I tried. If I don't I will be able to maintain my hair

I think if hair is important to you it is worth it

That's the wrong question. The right question is: do you want to keep your hair or not?

I second that...if you have had ED before then I would def avoid it. Have you considered Regaine?

With your history of ED perhaps not the best of choice? Have you looked at any other options?
I have looked into most options, but finasteride seems like the most promising seeing as my hairloss is definetly hereditary male pattern baldness. But Yeah it seems like playing with fire in my case

I havent considered it because i dont want to experience a worse shed, and hereditary male pattern baldness due to excess dht is definetly the underlying cause for me:/

There are other treatments out there just not as effective. IMO the shed from rogaine isn't to bad. However I've been on it for a year and no improvement

You could also try topical like RU although it is a little bit less main stream , I don't know much about it but people get decent results

Hi man, was in exact same position as you a few months ago, I weighed it up and took it, in less than a week at 1.25 I got severe side effects that still have not gone away four months later, the real problem is the docs cannot tell who will get sides and if you do there's no going back and you are on your own, I'm not trying to scare you I only come do this as I wish someone was more forceful with me and told me not to take it beforehand maybe I would have said nah not for me but I believed the posts that said sides don't happen or only happen after a long time and once you stop everything bounces back, I even believed the Harvard study which said they only found depression in men who take it, they obviously missed something as it has really messed me up in that I have lost feeling in genitals no sh*t, I cannot feel being touched like when you get an anisthetic from dentist, if my brother or friend came to me and said I want to take it I would say the same, it's very hard to comprehend what I am saying but I am not nuts it literally numbed part of my body. I will admit most seem fine on it BUT if you get burned the effects are catastrophic it's not a good trade off.

Have you tried Saw Palmetto? Might give you an indication of how Finasteride may affect you (of course Finasteride is much stronger).

Hey man, im sorry to hear avout your bad sides, and i really appreciate your honesty about it, i am avoiding finasteride, and i would rather keep my health and battle my hairloss in less risky ways, especially since i have had problems with ed before! Hope everything revolves and that your sides go away now that your hormone levels are stabilizing! Thanks again man :)
