Finasteride UK Users

Can anyone recommend a reliable source of finasteride in the UK? Unfortunately, I cannot afford a private prescription of Propecia and my supply is running low.

I have previously purchased from Mr Ashcroft but he has not returned my e-mails/calls. I have also used Dr. Lee in the past before he was shut down. I believe http://ukfinasteride.info is legit, but they charge £60 more than what Dr. Ashcroft charged for a 15 month supply so I really want to use this as a last resort.

I've seen alldaychemist.com recommended, but I am unsure whether they are genuine(?)

Can anyone help?

Thanks

I think Dr. Ashcroft changed his email to a gmail one if that's the one you're using. He became too busy to continue supplying finasteride I believe which is why he recommended ukfinasteride - it is legit (Dr. Singh) although they appear to have stopped selling Finpecia 1mg.

anyway you can get Finasteride 5mg for only £5 (two boxes) with a private prescription from your own GP or derm. That's what I do now

Thanks. Unfortunately my own GP would not help ("I'm afraid there's nothing you can do you hairloss").

I did use Dr. Ashcroft's gmail account. I called him a few weeks back and he confirmed he still sold it and asked me to send him an e-mail, but after two e-mails he has not replied.

Looks like I'll have to pay try ukfinasteride. There are a lot of online pharmacies out there which are cheaper but I would prefer the peace of mind knowing that I've bought from a good source. It's still relatively cheap when compared to a propecia private prescription, just more than what I was paying previously.

"I'm afraid there's nothing you can do you hairloss"

This makes me so angry... That is bordering on medical negligence! It still blows my mind how uninformed most GP's are, and how they won't even do the tiniest bit of research to keep on top of hair loss treatment and medications. Just goes to show that even after all those years in medical school, they're still total unprofessionals. Imagine all the people that could, but won't be helped because of these ignorant fools....

I know.

I did eventually seek a second opinion and was at least advised "there is some medication out there (he couldn't name it), but it's not very effective, and it's not available on the NHS and very expensive". That's when I did my own research and found Dr. Ashcroft's details on here.

yeah that's total bull****. See a different GP or ask to be referred to a derm and you might have more luck with getting a private prescription. Seems to be total pot luck with doctors on this issue. IMO it's worth the hassle considering the amount of money you could save.

better yet, why don't you go back to your GP and edcuate him - tell him there IS something you can do about male pattern baldness.

I probably will do in the future. For now, I've e-mailed ukfinasteride and will wait to see their response.

Had the same problem; he never replied. He is considered 'good' among the community, and may have been before, but it is frustrating if he doesn't reply to a perfectly reasonable and polite email or two.

Had the SAME problem with my GP, and the one before, and the one before, and the one before. Wish we had the sorta (universal) healthcare setups they have in some other European countries, where you can go straight to a specialist with an electronic health card, would save all the crap we get on the NHS with ignorant "computer says no" GPs.

Do you have a problem getting from inhouse? I just cant be bothered with all the running around with other options. Its nice for those with a non-ignorant doctor, but otherwise Inhouse has never been a problem for me.

Honestly, I have had finpecia from several online sources now, all have been slightly different - from packaging to taste of pill. I switched to finax for a year too.

The ukfinasteride batch felt good over all and I thought id take the hit on extra price for peace of mind. But it looks like he's been stopped from selling the stuff.

In-house it'll be then....
