Finasteride vs Minoxidil?

So I posted here yesterday and concluded that I am indeed balding. I'm 21 and I reckon I'm a Norwood II but you can check out my pictures on this thread: http://www.gourmetstylewellness.com/interact/showthread.php/97655-Should-I-be-worried

So, hair-loss medication was never a consideration until yesterday so I have a lot of questions as you can imagine. I'm leaning towards finasteride, so a lot of the questions will revolve around finasteride.

a) Should I get finasteride or mino considering my hairline and the stage of male pattern baldness I'm at? I know that finasteride is oral, which could be problematic due to a recent course of accutane. Does either halt male pattern baldness completely?

b) How common are the ED problems associated with Finasteride? The last thing I need is something going wrong downstairs as well.. Has anyone experienced problems?

c) Should I immediately start using Nizoral shampoo? I've heard it helps fight androgens and reduces irritation of the scalp.

d) Is it possible to regrow lost hair using finasteride? Or will my hair maintain its current condition and that's the best I can hope for.

e) Will accutane prevent me from taking finasteride? Should I stop taking it immediately? My acne has cleared up completely

f) Are generics truly as effective as Propecia and Rogaine?

Cheers all :turned:

A lot of people go on finasteride and then add minoxidil 6 months - 1 year down the line. This way you can see which one is doing what in relation to your hair.

Cheers 1knox.

I've been reading alot about the sexual side effects and it's really worrying me. Accurate has definitely damaged my libido, so I'm now worried that finasteride will feck it up altogether.
