That sounds really horrible! You should get treatment for this issue. See a psychiatrist right away.

Well that's a first... Never heard of anybody's muscles atrophying due to finasteride before... When you quit finasteride, you lose your gains, so that explains the shed. As for the testicular pain, that's very strange... Why do you think finasteride would cause terrible testicular pain? I've heard some guys report a dull ache at the start that goes away, but even that I assumed was psychosomatic. You should go see a doctor.

i take the pills without bloodtest. maybe my testesterone level was low and when i take finasteride it make worse. i read that low testerone cause muscle atrophy, shrunk testis , pain etc..
and fml, i am not going to try to believe me because i dont need it. you can believe that i am crazy.

There are guys on propeciahelp . com that took only one pill and have suffered permanent damage.

One pill and suffered permanent damage? That seems incredibly unlikely. Not that I think it can't cause permanent damage. I just think one pill wouldn't do something...

One pill or not, they want you to believe that if you experience sides, that they will gradually fade over several weeks/months. Imagine being one of the people for who the sides never fade?

I couldn't stand the anxiety of not knowing whether the sides will fade or that I will be left with permanent damage.

While people should be aware of possible sides, I dread to think of all the men who could save their hair with finasteride, without side effects, who will be scared off and never try, most people don't get sides, and sides this extreme, if true, are more due to an underlying medical condition. Finasteride actually increases systemic testosterone by preventing conversion into DHT.

1) See doctor.

2) What was the source of your medication?

Well I think I'm developing gyno and I haven't been able to get an erection for 48 hours at least. I stopped the finasteride two days ago and am praying to God that the gyno goes away (hopefully I caught it early enough) and that my libido comes back. Hopefully I can do something like taking 0.5 mg instead of 1 mg or maybe take 1 mg a few times a week...something like that, lower the dose.
It is now my personal belief that everyone who wants to start finasteride should get a hormone test first. That would be very wise.
