Finpecia/Rogaine Failure

I am a 38 year old male. I have been on Finpecia and Rogaine for years and I continue to lose my hair very, very slowly (it's especially thinning in the front). I see finasteride listed as 83% effective for at least preserving the hair one has. With this in mind, how frequent is it to have a failure who's on BOTH finasteride and minoxidil? Just can't believe I couldn't at least preserve it. Very disheartening and while it's a very basic regimen, i'm sick of sticking to something where the "best" result is a slow, depressing loss of my hair.

Thanks for any input.

well success is probably the verry very slow rate of hair loss, as you described.

If you drop your routine, then it could become very aggresive and could end up losing a good amount of hair in time.

Obviously with a 70% DHT inhibitation, 30% is left to ravage your folicles. The 80% figure your describing was only after 5 years, it is expected to continue to receed after so many years. Try adding a topical like spironolactone, or go on Avodart which will inhibit 92% DHT.

i agree with the guy above me. dunno about spironolactone things at all but the one time when id feel comfortable with someone taking avodart is if theyve already been on finasteride for years and its doing nothing. sorry to hear its not working out as well as youd hoped.
