Some liver side effects for ORAL FLUTAMIDE (HIGH DOSE of 250 mg a day) are listed below. However for people using Flutagel at 1% we are only getting a much smaller amount, side effects are unlikely unless you have perhaps some serious health issues (liver etc..) to start with.
I could not find any reports of serious side effects from people using the 1.5% Flutamide GENHAIR liquid, which has been out a few years now.
I have been using that Flutagel for 2.5 months and libido was a bit down since 2-3 weeks but things are improving lately. Granted, I am not so young anymore (41) and also taking oral dutasteride (0.5mg a day) so there is a synergy effect on hair & libido loss.
Libido issues are usually improving over time.
I will stick with that flutagel, it has really thicken my hairline so much and I am even getting new hair at the temples now.
I just started Fluridil today as well (see below photo of my wares). Those androgene receptors are in for a surprise...
from http://www.drugs.com/cons/eulexin.html :
Nonsteroidal antiandrogens rarely cause liver problems during treatment. The most important signs of this side effect are pain or tenderness in the upper right side of the abdomen (stomach) and yellow eyes or skin. Check with your doctor immediately if either of these occurs. Also, check with your doctor as soon as possible if itching occurs or your urine appears unusually dark. Other possible symptoms, such as loss of appetite, nausea or vomiting, and “flu-like†symptoms (headache, muscle or joint pain, or tiredness), can occur during treatment even if you are not having any liver problems. These symptoms usually do not need medical attention. However, if two or more of them occur at the same time, and they last for more than a few days, check with your doctor even if you do not have any of the other symptoms mentioned earlier.
