Hey Admin,

I’ve stumbled across something amazing. I was doing a bit of digging around Follica’s potential treatment (I went through a load of patents). It boils down to this – Laser skin perturbation followed by an aplication of Lithium Gluconate (8% w/v). The at home topical compound will include a BMP-inhibitor (they namecheck Dorsomorphin), a WNT modulator, and an EGFR inhibitor.

I didn’t really think that much about the EGFR inhibitor at first, but as I was reading something became quite apparent. The names! The drugs listed in the patents include:

Canertinib
Vandetanib
Pelitinib
Various other with XX-yyy code names

Notice the “nib” ending to these names? All of these drugs are Tyrosine Kinase inhibitors! What makes this interesting is that a Janus Kinase is just a type of Tyrosine Kinase!

This is exciting for all sorts of reasons –

1) Gives strong evidence that Dr Christiano is correct about kinase inhibitors
2) Shows that Follica is much more than the “dermarolling plus minoxidil” nonsense you read on some of the forums
3) We could have access to kinase inhibitors way before Aclaris are done
4) Follica could now potentially be the company to prove your prediction correct!

I agree. As always with Follica they project themselves as a weak cuckold company. Zero evidence, and laughable talks.

I don't understand why people wait for Follica though.

Why don't you all just pick up microneedling + minoxidil as per the R. Dhurat protocol?

It's not like Follica will come out with something way more advanced than that.

What amount of force do you put into the microneedling though? Is it until you bleed a little bit or there should be no bleeding?

Going to be honest after watching the webcast of Follica I am convinced that it is a lot more than just Microneedling and Minoxidil those presentation has me convinced that minoxidil won't even be part of the treatment

I'm doing that, but my concern is that I'm creating scar tissue. I wanted to wait until Follica's research was public to know how best to avoid that, but I need hair now.

It wouldn't matter what they came up with, Minoxidil would still be a part of the treatment to make it even better. Honestly, you can do it yourself if you want to make money off of suckers. Put anything you can think of in a bottle, and say it grows hair. Quietly add minoxidil to the ingredients so that it works, and then watch the money roll in.

Microneedling procedure

The shaven scalp was prepared with betadine and normal saline. A dermaroller of 1.5 mm sized needles was rolled over the affected areas of the scalp in a longitudinal, vertical, and diagonal directions until mild erythema was noted, which was considered as the end point of the procedure. All patients were instructed not to apply Minoxidil on the day of procedure and to resume its application only 24 h after the Microneedling procedure.

I've read that before and then googled image mild erythema and was like okay, i'm sure those pics aren't "mild" erythema.

@ the video, thanks man but I don't understand what they're saying.

It's still 4 times better than minoxidil alone.
No, the natural density is 250-350 hairs/cm2.

4 Xs better than minoxidil is better than nothing. If they can get FDA approval for this claim to efficacy, it's better than anything available right now. People will shell out for that.

And 19 times what? "Neogenic structures" ? By what I've read the percentage of HF on our heads producing just one hair is less than 20%. Most HF produce 2 and 3 hairs each. So will RAIN produce 19 Hairs or HF per cm^2 ? How many neogenic structures per sq. cm are produced on avg. By minoxidil alone? How much coverage with a single hair transplant session? I think RAIN will be more cost effective than scalpel or FUE or whatever.

Yes I think so too, or at least we can hope it's more than just minoxidil. This quote from Cotsarelis also makes me believe Follica will be aiming higher than just minoxidil. If not with initial release of RAIN, then sometime after.

From June 2013:

Cotsarelis told SciBX that the next steps for this research include testing the effects of FGF9 on human skin in xenograft models and then in the clinic.

Is it time for the clinical end of things?

That's right I think she tried minoxidil plus Microneedling on, was it, 4 or 5 patients total? Yes she is listed as an advisor or board member? Not sure how or why this would restrict them to trialing just minoxidil, unless this trial is to try and prove Dhurat's efficacy with a larger sample of test patients? 4 or 5 test patients likely not a large enough sample for FDA to support efficacy.

But Dr Dhurat did not use FGF9, did she ?

I have called R. Dhurat yesterday. She confirmed she was on the board for Follica.

She didn't want to disclose anything at all about Follica but said they would initiate their study soon.

Regarding the thread embedding therapy you can get that at her clinic in Mumbai, in combination with other things (combination therapy).
