www.folligen.com It stopped my shed at about the 6 week mark of using it daily (shedding from 150-200 hairs to about 10-15). I can't answer your question about spironolactone--never used it.

how has it worked for you so far? You said you were able to stop the shed? any thickening of existing hair?

I recommend the regular Folligen therapy spray or lotion (if you are just using it for the hairline). Be warned, it does sting a little bit the first you use it so ease into it. Yet, I will agree it does help with shedding.

As I said, folligen brought my shed down to around 10-15 hairs/day when combing over the sink in the morning before showering. However, I've added new things to my routine in April, including use of Retin-A and scalp rollering before use of folligen and that has brought my shed up again to around 30-50 shed when combing. I think the folligen is getting in there deeper and since folligen will initially make you shed more before it halts it....here I go again, but it is nowhere near what I used to shed and if it helps with hair growth (the Retin-A and rollering), I'm going for it. I really believe anything that's going to work will initially boot out some old hair while it's getting to the root of the problem.

I have noticed some thickend hairs and some stubbies growing in what I consider the desert of my scalp, so we shall see.

Which of the folligen products do you use and recommend?

I like the folligen spray personally. Although the next time I order, I will order both folligen spray and folligen for blondes. There some evidence now that tin peptides may work even better than copper in terms of getting more hair to regrow, so I have decided to rotate the two just to hedge my bets.
