For those who use proscar....

I was wondering for those who use proscar, when they cut it up into quarters or one-fifths, if anyone coats the pieces with a protective coating (like the one on propecia)?

Perhaps there is something you can buy to coat the pills?

I worry sometimes that the tablet is being dissolved in the stomach and not the small intestines, which means it may not be absorbed in the bloodstream.... Also, it may cause problems within the stomach itself (ie ulcers, inflamations, etc)?

I have never heard of anything to coat the pills with. I just quarter mine and take them as is. I think the coating would dissolve once ingested anyway. Maybe someone else may have a different view. Just a thought and good luck.

I was cutting Merck Proscar in 4 pieces and wrapping the pieces in aluminium foil for storage. No issues doing this for over 6 years in terms of health or effectiveness, compared to taking Propecia for the first 6 months.
