Four Years On Finasteride; Testicular Pain Just Started. Why?

Hey all,

I've been taking 1mg generic finasteride for almost four years. It's been successful at halting my hair loss for the most part, and I've never noticed any side effects...until three months ago. One night I started to feel pain in my left testicle, and it's just lingered since then. At some moments it would be quite painful, but 90-95% of the time it's been just a slightly numbing, tolerable pain. Some days it's barely noticeable, others it is clearly there.

I've spoken briefly to my dermatologist and a sexual health specialist about being on finasteride and they both think it's unlikely finasteride is causing my testicle to ache after four years of no side effects. They were confident and quick in their answers. That said, I'm still skeptical and nervous about any problem related to my genitals.

I plan on seeing a urologist soon and maybe getting an x-ray done.

Has anyone on this forum started to experience testicular pain or other side effects several years into the drug after not having any? What are the odds that something other than finasteride is causing my left ball to ache?

Its really hard to say if it is the cause. Only going off it and seeing it subside would confirm it. I get some ball ache from time to time too but its never persistent (3.5 years on finasteride). Give it a few weeks to see if it doesn't subside.
