I actually know two guys in their early twenties who this is happening to.

Both of them lost about half of their hair in about a year and a half period. One of them I only see once in a while, and it's really dramatic to see how much less hair he has when I do see him.

It makes me feel lucky that I at least made it to thirty.

S*** man that's sucks :(

Will he consider any regimens, etc? If the hair went THAT fast, it could still be salvageable.. maybe o_O
The only one recovering from a Norwood 6 to a decent head of hair is GeminiX... but you can't compare that.

Well I dunno I mean there are a LOT of tricks. He could probably still save it if he went NUTS on it lol The biggest problem I can see would be ensuring they're fully grown hairs and not just lil faint hairs ._.

Man, with male pattern baldness that damn aggressive at such a young age, nothing short of a hair transplant will get him any hair back. Maybe he'll thicken his crown a tad with finasteride but probably wouldn't even be worth it.

I saw a guy at the gym who was probably 17 or 18 when he first started to go bald. Over the years I have seen him at various places and I would say he would go down the Norwood scale each year. I would say he is probably early 20's and I just saw him at the place I work and he is now about a NW5 or NW6. He is still skinny but most importantly he had a nice looking girlfriend. So all you guys that think you have to be buffed to compensate for your hair loss are wrong. He is confident and does not let his hair loss ruin his life. I doubt he ever used Propecia because I think he would have not lost his hair that fast. I just recently saw another person who is now 26 and had great hair about 5 or 6 years ago. I am pretty sure his dad has a full head of hair. He had to take off his hat and I was shocked to see a NW4 going on NW5 hiding under his cap. I think hair loss may have humbled him because he used to have kind of an attitude before but he seemed more pleasant now. I think the moral of the story here is most people who have aggressive male pattern baldness and will be destined to be a NW6 or NW7 usually experience most of their loss in their early 20's. So if you can make it to 30 with minor loss, you will most likely not experience aggressive hair loss especially if you take Propecia.

Yeah I feel like 30 is sort of a magic number. If you can make it there with a lot of hair you probably aren't destined to be totally bald especially with finasteride. I recently saw a cousin of mine. He's about 40 and looks like a norwood 3a. He still had a lot of hair in the back, which gave me hope because it looks the same way my pattern is headed. If I can make it to mid-late 30s with only norwood 3a I'll probably get a transplant back to norwood 1.

Were they all diffuse thinners?

do you think hypothetically if they were on finasteride starting at puberty this wouldn't happen?

Both of them seem to be diffuse thinners to some degree, but the classic MBP pattern of a more noticeably thinner crown and temples is there as well.

Similar to what I'm going through, just at a younger age and at a even faster pace.

Yea I feel exactly the same. If I can make it to thirty with a decent head of hair I will be more than happy. There are so many guys out there who never even looks into treatments like we do. That never fights for their hair-

So if you keep your hair with medications til' 30 there will be lots of your friends who've lost all their hair by then, = win for us

Btw 30 is an acceptable age to have thinner hair, 20 is not. Atleast thats how i feel about this sh*t

wait untill u get to 30 and you will be wanting hair untill ur 40:).

most of my mates are balding, 30-40. its nice to hold onto it untill ur 30, but u do want it longer.

nano and finasteride has saved my hair, my friends have no clue im taking anything, they just think im very lucky:)...

i think you can reverse max 3 years of hairloss...

so if i was him i would buy fina / proscar and break it into 4 pieces , 1,25mg a day

also some nizoral or other ketoshampoo

and dr lee minoxidil ....

and use it every day during 1 year and make before and after pictures...
he could be supprised ...

Probably but their sexual organs wouldn't be fully developed.
