Friend wants to use minoxidil on her dog.

It may sound crazy but one of my friend asked me if it's o.k. to use Rogaine on her little dog. The dog has a beautiful fur however my fiend wants to thicken up her dog fur for the winter.
I highly disagree with that and I will try to persuade her not to do it. I need your advises of what should I said to her and not to hurt her feelings because she already got upset of what I thought about it.

I remember reading somewhere that minoxidil is toxic for cats but don't hold me to that.
but if it is then maybe it could be for dogs too and it might be dead by winter.

Agree with this assessment re: the dog-owner.

Yes, Rogaine will kill a cat stone dead so probably not good to use on a dog either.
