From the UK - My doctor won't prescribe me with Propecia

I've been going bald for around 6 years now, but has got really bad in the last year.

I want to take propecia or similar, as I have heard that it is the most effective (proven) and it's easier to fit into my lifestyle.

How can I get my doctor to prescribe it? If I can't, where do I go from there? He has said that it's a load of rubbish, and the only thing worth trying is minoxidil, which I: 1. Don't have the time to apply every day, and 2. Understand it makes your hair greasy, which would make my hair look even balder.

Where's the cheapest places to get it?

Ideally I'm looking to regrow some hair, but understand that is unlikely.

Can people tell me more about Propecia/similar? What will happen to me... I know at first there will be hair loss, but how much? I can't really cover up more hair loss, and don't want to go for a buzz cut.

I know these questions have probably been asked a thousand times, so I appreciate anyone taking their time to help me out!

And that's precisely why you should do some reading around here before asking.

You can get Propecia (a generic, at least) from an online pharmacy for significantly less than a drug store.

I think my main question is "how to get my doctor to actually want to help me"... The rest, I can work out, ish.

If he thinks an antiandrogen is rubbish, he's retarded. You should go to another doctor or just buy it online.

find another doctor- as soon as I told my doctor I was losing my hair he started talking about propecia.
