General question about shedding and regimen

I know that there is a normal amount of shedding that anyone goes through each day. Lose a couple hairs here and there, but when I shower and run my hands on the side of my head I have a handful of hair. Probably about 20 every time I do it. I rinse my hands off, rub my sides of my head, 20 more, it just doesn't stop. Is this normal? I thought the sides of the head were not prone to DHT. I am a diffuse thinner on top, my regimen right now is Saw Palmetto, Beta-Sitosterol, spironolactone cream at night. Zinc, Azelaic Acid and Minoxidil in the morning topically. I have taken finasteride in the past but the sides were too much, however I am thinking of jumping on it again but am unsure. I attribute my hairless to anti-depressants, which I need to be on, however I have switched a million times thinking one causes more hair loss than the other. I don't know if this is true or if it is the male pattern baldness or what. I'm getting pretty tired of this and it is causing more anxiety and depression.
