generics and safety

Hi!
I have purchased some EXTREMELY cheap Avodart from Anagen.net without the need for a prescription. The medicine arrived after 2 weeeks as promised. However, the appearance of the generic dutas worries me: small, round and pink capsules that does not at all look like the original ones. Does anyone have any experience with generic avodart that looked the same way, or is this totally random?

Kind regards,
Alexander

Why do you want them to look like the original ones - you know that they aren't original. I mean, Image is nothing - regrowth is everything

safety & generic avodart

I got these shipped to me from India, and I was simply wondering if and how one can somehow get assurance that these are not mere sugarpills with no active ingredient. These ones look like small raisins, are pink and are vacuum-packed in a very generic manner, so to speak. I would be nice to know if someone could confirm that generic avodart actually look like this - or alternatively come in many different outfits... I hate the insecurity - it even puts me at risk of loosing the placebo effect!

I've never used Generic Dutasteride, but given the fairly significant difference between Fincar and Proscar, it's possible to have that much of a deviation.

Sorry I couldn't be much more help.

Do they look like this?

Alexander,

After I read your post I went to the following website where they have a product shot of Dutas, which is generic dutasteride (go to bottom of page for larger photo).

http://www.unitedpharmacies.com/Dutas_G ... p_395.html

Is this what you have; are the blister packages similar as well? The description you gave of the pills seem to match the photos.

Another thing I heard to test the authenticity (I can't see this being a 100% test by any means of the imagination) is breaking a capsule open; it is supposed to taste very bitter.

How was the overall process ordering on Anagen.net as I was interested in ordering from them. What country are you from? Did they send your order in a large box that may peak the interest of customs to open it?

Take care and good luck with your regimen. I look forward to your answer.

generic avodart in reddish outfit

Hi again. I went to the site refered to above. Im afraid they dont look that way - they were not even packed in blister packages, but vacuum packed and sealed in some plastic - as you would do with food to be stored in the freezer.

The generic avodart on the above mentioned photo appear brownish to me. The ones I got appear much more light pink-red. Anyway, I just broke one and tasted the contains: I would not call the taste bitter, but it does create a strong citrus/azid-like sizzling and unpleasant sensation on your tongue. Very synthetic. :x

Ive had many problems with customs here in Denmark (where Im from). The European Union (EU) keep af very strict control with imported medicine from outside the EU, because there is no gurantee for the safety and quality of the medicine. This particular generic Avodart apparently was shipped to me from India and was actually caught up in customs twice before a third shipment finally reached me! But they have been quite nice at Anagen.net - they have shipped again with no questions asked, probably because they are aware of the problems caused by custom regulations. The medicine that finally arrived to me was packed in a casual manner as if it was sent from a private person.

If I can get some kind of reassurance that this med IS the real stuff, then I would recommend Anagen.net with the obvious hesitation that you may not get your medicine if it is indeed picked up by domestic customs. In such case Anagen.net promise you a money-back guarantee, but I havent had the chance to document the sincerity behind this promise.

So HOW does your Avodart taste?
Let me know if you have the same kind of reddish and potentiel sugarpills laying around :freaked:

Alexander,

The only other manufacturer of Generic Dutasteride that is commonly sold on the internet is by Cipla and called Duprost. You could contact them and see if they could send you an image of the pills they produce or just do a search for it on Google, Altavista either in their regular search or image search.

I have not actually used the pills so I can't say anything about the taste - I've only read the fact that they are supposed to be bitter on other forums.

As a last test you could just start taking the pills and see what the long term results are.

Please report back here on what you find as I, and I suspect others, would be interested in your results. Good luck!

First, I have good trust in Cipla. but as far as the medicine Ive received (ordered from anagen.net) I simply havent been able to confirm the authenticity of the medicine. Ive read one too many stories on counterfeit med coming out of India, Pakistan and Asia to be wanting to take the chance of missing out the placebo of knowing that Im actually getting the right stuff :hairy:
So I decided to order some -genuine- Avodart at http://www.merlonipharma.ch. 90 capsules at 185$ (140Euro) incl. shipping. However this may only be available if you live in Europe as they ship from Italy. I should mention that I still havent received the med, so obviously I cant speak for the reliability of this particular supplier.

Good luck,
ALexander

Update

Hi there. I wanted to update on my experience with ordering generic avodart versus genuine avodart. I contacted Anagen.net, since I did not feel comfortable with the missing labeling on the generic avodart I received. Heres is the correspondance with anagen.net: (should be read from buttom-up)

Now, I didnt find this info reassuring really, because I wasnt able to actually confirm that sunpharma produce generic avodart. Thus I went with a schwiz deal through http://www.merlonipharma.ch. THey ship worldwide from Italy. Now, I haven´t received it yet, should be around in a couple of days. I simply wrote to [email protected] and asked if he could ship Avodart to Denmark. No problem, he replied - give me your visa card number + exp. date. 'ehmm...', you think then... but in the end I did, because someone referred to this deal in another post, which you can view here: http://www.gourmetstylewellness.com/discussions ... rt+proscar

Looking for an even better deal I asked him if he expected to be offering generic avodart in the future to which he replied that they couldnt do so, due to royalities... that a generic verson of dutasteride was simply not in place. This is of course not correct, but in a second mail he clarified that they only deal with the patented stuff because aprox 70% percent of the generic stuff that I had in mind had, he said, been proven unreliable or of poor quality. Overall, it does seem trustworthy - and ill report back when and if I get the real thing :)

Cheers,
Alexander
