I have a question about the batch of spironolactone cream (S5) i bought from genhair. I've heard so many stories of how bad the stuff is supposed to smell, but I can't smell anything fowl from it except the smell of menthol they add to it, which is makes it kind of nice.

So this has got me to thinking that either they have suddenly managed to cover the fowl odor completely somehow, or the stuff actually doesn't have spironolactone in it, atleast in the amounts its formerly been.

So spironolactone users, especially people who order products from genhair, whats your opinion on this?

I have used s5 for months and it's fine. I switched from another brand and all is good and in fact I think it's better.

Ok.. anyone else?

It seems to be the same spironolactone product (s5 cream) they sell on this site so there must be others who can to comment on the smell.

I've never used Genhair's but I've used Dr Lee's topical spironolactone and never smelled anything remotely resembling a chicken or any other sort of bird. :)

There is a pretty foul odor emitted when combined with topical minoxidil as there is some sort of reaction between the two drugs. I think the rumors of a bad smell from spironolactone are highly exaggerated.

A few weeks ago I purchased my first s5 from this site. It has now become my favorite topical, as it has a soothing feeling on my scalp when applied AND a truly refreshing smell. I wait a few minutes after my minoxidil application and then apply the s5.

I'll report back in a few weeks on hair regrowth/maintenance as I know it's early for me yet. But I can say already that my scalp has NEVER felt better.
