Is your UTS V-looped? If so, that is the reason, the hair is not knotted in a vloop, and over time will slip out. Shedding can also happen from hair breakage at the knot. That happened to me with my first system. 14" human grey with bleached knots, too much process, and the hair broke off at the knot.

Yes v-looped and mostly it does just 'slip out' over time - I can tell because the hair is very long when it comes out.

I'm OK with a system falling apart after a while but I would like to get 6 months out of each one if possible.

6 months would be great.
Only had 3 months out of my first one until the thin skin base tore when cleaning it.
