finasteride can absolutely induce male pattern baldness in someone that didn't have it to begin with. Just ask pjhair. He posts here currently and that's exactly what happened to him. I've also read other accounts of people who took finasteride as a preventive measure and ended up inducing male pattern baldness. finasteride destroyed my hair including the donor area. It made DHT resIstant hair into DHT sensitive hair.
This isn't a hard thing to understand guys.
Androgen receptors have the ability to adapt to hormonal changes through the process of AR up/down regulation. Look it up. It's a real thing. This is a physical alteration that is occuring that increases the number of receptors and sensitivity.
if your hair follicle receptors have been altered there is no guarantee that they return to normal again after quitting finasteride. So now you have way more sensitive hair follicle receptors AND normal levels of DHT. This is why most men experience the fast 'catch up' hairloss after quitting finasteride.
This is also the reason why some men experience accelerated hairloss on finasteride.
