Getting on finasteride again, after stopping due to sides

Greetings.

this is my first post in this forum, so here are some side notes:
i'm turning 30 this summer, my hairline is still fine (went some inch back, matured hairline i think)
my doctor subscribed me propecia, said that there are thinning hairs all over the top of my head and that people with diffuse pattern are the ones, who respond best from propecia.

I tried out propecia 2 weeks ago, took 1 mg for only one day in the evening and the other day i had slight ball ace. (it was more like some uncomfortable feeling down there, not pain really, more like your underwear does not fit anymore) and slight problemes to get it up. (thats maybe a placebo effect, because i was nervous from the ball ace) so i went off after taking one pill only.
i fully recovered from the sides around one week after i took it, the ball ace went away and everythink else is fine now again.
(one week seems to be the normal time, because i have read, that the 5α-reductase takes around one week to recover after lowering DHT)

now, two weeks after, i am thinking about giving it a second try, this time "only" 0,5 mg.

do you think it is to early to give it a second try? what do you suggest?
i want to try it a second time as fast as "save", because i have the diffuse thinning pattern and i still have enough thickness to style my hair.
are there any users in this forum who did it the same way? did your ball ace go away?

thanks

week 10 update:
still taking propecia 0,5 mg and also revita shampoo every other day. no sides or problems :) (week 10 now)
i had some small shedding after about 4 weeks, but i am also noticing some temple(!!) regrowth on my "bad side". (my other side is full and has no signs of balding, only some receding because of a maturing hairline). there are some hairs that have grown a bit longer and even more to come who are newer and still very small.
if i pull my hair back i can also spot lots of small hairs all over my head. :) so far my hair feels also thicker than before staring it.

I think you can give it a go again now if you don't experience sides any more. Start off with 0.5 for a week or two (as you've already said) and if no sides, up the does to 0.75 or 1mg!! Good luck!!

I can assure you that if you only took one Propecia pill, any side effects you thought you experienced would have been in your head.

If you convince yourself that it will give you side effects then it probably will.

Your experience is similar to mine. I stopped after a week but got back on it. The ball ache does subside but I can still feel it at certain times but it's not bothersome.

I would give it another try and wait it out providing the symptoms don't get any worse.

I had slight ball ache for the first week and potentially slight libido problems, not sure though, but it's all gone away now.

With such minor sides that you had I really think you should just persist with it for a longer period of time and see if they go away.
