Getting Proscar Prescription, What Should I Ask For?

Hey guys, I will be using the app Doctor on Demand to get a prescription for Proscar. Proscar seems like it will be cheaper in the long run, I can cut them into fourths and my Kmart offers them for $8 (at least according to GoodRx.)

I read on a forum that I need to be ultra specific about what I want. So what should I ask for exactly? Are there specific measurements I need? Is there anything else I should consider?

Are you asking about what finasteride brand you should buy? Because it doesn’t matter, as long as it’s finasteride.

Are you asking for what dosage to take?
If so, you want to aim for 1mg - 1.25mg.

Hey thank you Apples. Sorry for the late response, was out of town.

I guess I'll start over. What is essential information I'd need to talk to the doctor about? Is it as easy as "here's proof of my balding, could I get proscar?" or are there things I need to clarify like how much I can get filled? I hope this clarifies how clueless I am about this stuff, but I still understand this is a vague question without direction.

Oh. Well I think it depends on where you are in the world. I’m from Australia and I order my finasteride online via a self health check survey.

But yes, go to the doctors, inform them that you are balding and you’d like to try finasteride, having no prior medical conditions should make it easier for your doctor to sign off on it.

If that doesn’t work, see another doctor or a dermatologist, I’d be surprised if a derma doctor wouldn’t prescribe finasteride.

Proscar (Brand) 5mg tablets. They are not round. Cut into quarters. I take one every day except Thursday and Sunday.
