Been a member for about a year or two.

Long story short, I have diffuse hair loss and I never got a confirmation if it was definitely Androgenetic Alopecia (though I believe I have some extent possibly) but I came across pictures of Lichen planopilaris related hairloss and my scalp looked incredibly similar names terms of hairloss and scalp health, including bumps and such. Are there any other key signs?

Is there anywhere to stop this? Is regrowth hopeless? I don't have access to a doctor for at least a month so that is why I'm here.

Lpp causes hairloss through cicatricial or frontal fibrosing alopecia. basically scarring. you could have folliculitis which looks very similar to it. there was a point when i thought i had lpp due to my INSANELY painful scalp and hairloss. however, never had a proper doctor diagnose me..

Anyway, go see a doctor, derm preferably, and ask for a biopsy on site. dont mess around if your scalp looks as if you have that disorder. try and get on doxycylcline to clear any bacteria that could be giving you the scalp pimples and use a shampoo that takes care of a fungal aspect such as nizoral, selsun blue with selenium sulfide, etc.. good luck man, i know your pain and anxiety

Can yo move up appointment? i know scarring alopecia (if you even have this) you need to act quickly.

My dermatologist actually showed me a photo of her patient that has the frontal fibrosing kind she did a PRP treatment--which i think does jack sh*t for most hair loss--but the photos for this before/after were really good. I have no idea why..but i was a lot of new growth in the hair line. If she did anything else with her in conjunction i dont know i did not ask her.
I know that finasteride helps women that have this. I dont know about men..I remember because i though it was odd finasteride helps as opposed to spironolactone or other drugs because i did not think finasteride worked well for women with Androgenetic Alopecia...so it stuck in my head.

most cases of LPP need a scalp biopsy to confirm
